Has Andrea Mitchell apologized re VP debate?
Andrea Mitchell said this:
==========================================================
ANDREA MITCHELL, NBC CHIEF FOREIGN AFFAIRS CORRESPONDENT: I think Dick Cheney did awfully well at, first of all, putting John Edwards in his place, saying that I have been presiding over the Senate and I didn't meet you until tonight. Talking about his not having been on the job was pretty devastating.

CHRIS MATTHEWS: Not only is he new to politics. He is late to politics.

(LAUGHTER)
==========================================================
Cheney's statment during the debate was a lie in 2 ways.

Firstly, he's met Edwards before.

Secondly, when Cheney goes to the Senate building on most Tuesdays, it's to meet Republcans only in a room, so of course he doesn't see Edwards in the room.

1. Also, Cheney has only presided over the Senate
2 times. Slightly different than "most Tuesdays".

Plus, Edwards voting record for the first four years he was in the Senate (before he started campaigning) is 99-100%.

AM is a whore.

2. Yes and no
Cheney, as vice president, is chairperson of the senate and so he is often in the Senate chamber (it would be interesting to see what Cheney's attendance records was)

10. Not so
Cheney is rarely ever in the Senate chamber. In fact, I don't believe that he's ever been there outside of the times he's presided or participated in the Senate class photo. The photo is taken once a year and he has only presided over the Senate twice.

4. Apologize?
Are you serious?

If anything, she's just getting ready to spread those legs even wider to unprecedented angles.

Surely Andrea's got her own little "October surprise" for Shrub & Crew :)

11. That is a phrase one might expect a racist or sexist to use, but
not a reporter striving for objectivity.

6. Someone needs to start a website that "outs" Andrea Mitchell
as the Republican whore that she is. Anyone who has watched her on MSNBC knows that she's not the "objective" reporter she pretends to be. She's a Republican, just like her conservative Republican husband Alan Greenspan.

12. Didn't anyone think this statement was ironic ...

He was chiding Edwards for having poor attendance. Yet, he openly said that he (President of the Senate) was only there on Tuesdays!!!!

Thats like working for a boss who's only their on Tuesday and chastises you for working four days a week (Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri) instead of his Ruby Tuesday!!!!

Beyond this, they've used these little deceptions of the record to smear Kerry and Edwards. They're running for the oval office. Of course they're going to miss days. And it really doesn't matter because they're in the minority party anyway!!!!

The appropriate response to this nonsense is to ask why GW Bush didn't fullfill his gubenatorial term after pledging to NOT run for higher office like so many other politicians. The correct answer is to ask how many days he spent campaigning while the Texas legislature was in session. Of course, the Texas legislature only meets once EVERY TWO YEARS!!!

Finally, I'm not sure why they would want to attend intelligence committee meetings when all the intelligence the White House has fed them so-far has been cooked. They DO NOT have access to the same intelligence the president does. Jon Kerry CANNOT go down to the CIA and arm-twist analysts!!!
