Dean is GOP dream candidate? Why smear him in dem primary?
The GOP have bragged for months about Howard Dean being their "Dream candidate". If this is so why have the GOP funded anti-dean smear ads in Iowa? Obviously they fear his being nominated. They would rather have some milqtoast wannabe "Go with the conservative flow" RepubliClone like Gephardt or Lieberman running in November instead. They pretend to dance with glee at the prospect of a Dean nomination while feverishly trying to stop him from being nominated. Whats wrong with these people? Do they think they can really choose the nominee?

1. I agree, Dean is a dream...
but that dream is a nightmare for the Republicans.

Dean is going to swamp the GOP with grass-roots activism, new ideas, a populist ideal and great new solutions for what ails America.

Dean has pr oven he's a fighter and as long as BBV doesn't steal the election, victory is in the bag.

Note: I believe this would also be true for Kerry, Gerhardt and Clark.

4. Exactly!
And they rely so much on negative attacks. But with Dean, negative attacks only help him. It's strange that it does, but that's just how it's always been with him. It's going to throw Bush and Company so off their campaign game they will be lost.

3. Their strategy is not targeted at Dean
but at the supporters of other candidates... and it's working. Just look at all the posts on DU that can't imagine Dean's success is due to anything but GOP tampering. They seem to think Karl Rove really is the genius pulling the media's strings that the GOP claims he is.

Just one more way in which they lose by buying into the Republicans terms of debate.

9. Right ShimokitaJer...........
Its the old "Repeat a lie enough times and people start assuming it to be truth" ploy, and many otherwise intellegent people are buying into it.

5. Because they know Dean's campaign loves it at this point
it just riles up his "he can do no wrong" supporters, and gets him more cash.

6. I rest my case
Bombtrack here thinks the GOP are so smart that they run attack ads in order to bolster Dean's campaign, thus insuring that the candidate they want (the one they are attacking) is the candidate. It's a product of the Democratic inferiority complex that has been sweeping the country since 2000 and 9/11 and that Dean is trying like hell to fight against.

But don't believe me. I'm one of those that Dean has deceived... or maybe I'm a GOP plant... or maybe I'm Karl Rove himself.

8. Because Dean is a cryptoRepublican PseudoLiberal
He should not be nominated for the Democrats. He should try for the GOP nomination, as his true political philosophy is more akin to theirs. See www.mylinuxisp.com/~cryofan/dean.html for proof.
