New OH Poll, results in... (Who is right? Kucinich or Koppel?)
Edited on Sun Jan-11-04 04:59 AM by ThirdWheelLegend
This is really exciting. I decided to do my own poll as scientifically as the media pollsters. So on with the info!

(1)This poll was conducted from December 19th 2003 through January 10th of 2004.

(2)The random sample was taken from people that I saw or hung out with over that period of time.

Here is how the poll breaks down:

My friend A. and his fiancee B. Both chose Kucinich.
(2 Kucinich votes)

My friend E. She was adamantly for Kucinich.
(1 Kucinich vote)

My roommate R., he told me Kucinich and then Kerry were his votes.
(1 Kucinich vote)

My acquaintance M., said he will definitely vote for Kucinich in the primaries.
(1 Kucinich vote)

My mom said she loves Kucinich.
(1 Kucinich vote)

My Dad doesn't seem to care right now.
(undecided)

This guy M., he said Kucinich is the best match for him on the issues and would vote for him in the primary.
(1 Kucinich vote)

My friend J., who was in town from NY city, he supports Kucinich.
(1 Kucinich vote)

My friend M., is 100% for Kucinich.
(1 Kucinich vote)

My friend S., she is a "if not Kucinich then Nader" kinda gal.
(1 Kucinich vote)

My friend M. and her boyfriend M., they both wholeheartedly support Kucinich.
(2 Kucinich votes)

Of course I then polled myself to make it a truly scientific sampling. I support Kucinich 100%.
(1 Kucinich vote)

OFFICIAL RESULTS of the Tremont area scientific poll:

Total votes: 14 votes
Kucinich: 13 votes
Undecided: 1 vote
Dean: 0 votes
Clark: 0 votes
Kerry: 0 votes
Sharpton: 0 votes
Braun: 0 votes
Gephardt: 0 votes
Edwards: 0 votes
Lieberman: 0 votes

Kucinich wins with a resounding 92.9% of the votes!
Undecided was in a distant third with 7.1% of the vote.

So much for being unelectable!

****************************************
Honestly, I post this for discussion. I thought we were all in an uproar over Ted Koppel's remarks in the ABC debate. Do we agree with Koppel that polls and money should determine our choices. Or do we agree with Kucinich that the media should not direct us to that end?

Of course polls can reflect some semblance of opinion. But they can also be slanted in many ways. Push-polling and the polling sample for instance.

So if polls really do mean that much, please when considering a candidate, consider the amazing results of my official poll.

2. no need to lock
I edited to pose it as a discussion starter.

There is an opinion and questions posed at the bottom. :)

4. I'm still waiting for the pollster....
that absolutely 100% nails any election. I'm sure some come slose but so many times we see them being wrong...when was that one ...oh, yeah the 2000 election.. didn't they mess that one up big time?

5. I think I am in the minority...
...and maybe a really tiny minority: I am a strong supporter of Kucinich who also abhors fake polling.

Every time I propose campaigning from the position of perceived long-shot underdog, I get bombarded by kucitizens claiming it's all lies. Some people actually seem to believe sincerely that Dennis is sure to win. I'm not talking about positive thinking--that's great. I'm talking about people honestly believing "freeped" online polls and such.

Yours is every bit as credible, and I will cite it everywhere!

7. Well, I'm sticking with my positive thinking,
but NONE of them are "sure to win" despite the assertions of many supporters. Lots of things can happen to throw a curveball into this race, lots of surprises can happen in a caucus situation, and even some of the Primary Voting results may shock people.

8. No offense to you or your candidate...
but serious polls do actually give a reasonable accurate depiction of how the race will stack up.

11. McClintock did the same line for the recall. Didn't work.
It's the truth and if it hurts so be it. The country is not ready for a Kucinich.

My head is not in the sand. I have a feeling yours might be though.

12. Sorry, but that's not Scientific
People you personally know is not a random sample. If I polled only people I knew, then Gore would have won in 2000 with 97% of the vote, with 2% going to Nader and 1% to Bush. As we know, Gore only won with about 49% of the vote, if you count the people who were illegally prevented from voting.
