Two Important Points in New Republic article on Edwards

1. Please study the way an Edwards candidacy would drive a wedge between Bush and blue collar voters.

2. And also how an Edwards candidacy would attract rural voters, not only in the South, but in Missouri for example.

Even if Edwards isn't your man, you have to face these two things and answer how your candidate can attract these two groups. Without being competative with them, the election is virtually unwinable.

1. Edwards would have been a great candidate

In 2008. He's a very personable, charming and charismatic man. He just tried for too much too soon. He hasn't even served one full term in the senate. He needed to pay a few more dues before going after the big prize.
