In Case You Missed It, John Edwards Sealed The Election Win Tonite.
Edited on Tue Oct-05-04 11:52 PM by stopbush
Why do I say that?

Look at the polls.

Most of the "scientific polls" give Edwards the win. That is in and of itself good news. More important, the unscientific online polls have Edwards creaming Cheney. What's that tell you? One thing - that Kerry/Edwards supporters are more involved and more committed in this election than the Rs and that they are champing at the bit to drive the stake through bushco's evil heart.

But the coup de grace is this: the polls are in direct opposition to the media/pundit spin that is flooding the airwaves. What's that tell you? Why, that the public has turned off the media at this point, so no matter how hard they spin, the scales have fallen from the publics eyes, while at the same time, the earplugs have been inserted as far as the spinmeisters are concerned.

Bush is toast.

And all this on a night when we are told that more Rs than Ds watched the debate.

1. The spin is really amazing
When you have Edwards talking about how cheney voted against headstart, food programs for the elderly, for apartid, and won't allow prescription drugs to be imported from Canada, you know who has the issues

The elderly, the 18 - 24 year old group, the undecided, the minorities, middle of the road, and left of middle will vote for Kerry. It is in their interest and they know it. This will be a win by at least 5% for Kerry/Edwards

2. What do you say to the rumor

3. Seems fairly ridiculous.
They actually make themselves irrelevant.

4. I say that there aren't enough Freepers around to skew polls
over a couple of thousand respondents.

5. If they want to make polls irrelevant
then they are welcome to. This is an excuse because they know both of their candidates performances, thus far, have been lackluster.

Scientific polls are also showing Edwards to have done better, and at worst, to have tied Cheney. A tie is fine. It doesn't break the momentum in any way, and I think it keeps the excitement going within the party.

I'm thinking that this is solidifying the base...and helping with undecideds. Cheney said nothing that should change any person's mind that was already having doubts over this administration.

7. Edwards was superb
as a debater, and he didn't lie at all. Cheney should have 100% of his "points" deducted because of the lies.

8. John Edwards won the debate.
Cheney was only successful at keeping his human form in check for the duration of the debate.
