3. Kucinich is too whiny
Kucinich has some good ideas especially about the war in Iraq but he is too whiny and passive for my tastes. He is too wimpy to be the leader of the free world.

22. BS.
He is the only one who does not pussy foot about and feed us B.S.
Bush would be petrefied of DK as would be any world leader. Staight shooters are rare..Listen to the pablem from some of the nine, booring..booring.booring- bs mongers.
winy, no way..He is adamant about his convictions. Maybe the American people can't deal with that. He is the closest we have had to a Harry Truman, since Harry Truman. Maybe some citizens can't take intensity.

5. Online polls.
Edited on Sat Jan-10-04 07:40 PM by LWolf
Not scientific, but at least they include all the candidates when they poll. Unlike some other polls. It's hard to rise in the polls when you aren't listed as a choice. And then, of course, you've got the Newsweek poll. If they don't like the results (DK in first), they just keep starting over. When he still is in first place, they bury it.

I believe the moveon poll, in which DK came in second to Dean, was verified to be accurate.

17. Yes, there certainly was. It was

first up maybe two or three months ago. I was astounded that DK was in first place -- and stayed there. We all talked about it here -- guess this goes to show you guys don't read the Kucinich threads?!

Just as LWolf said, they finally threw the poll out when it didn't show what they wanted -- just like an AJC poll about Cynthia McKinney (too many people agreed with her.)

DK has run a lot of races as an underdog, and he's always won, so we're not really watching the polls.

6. Well Kucinich has kicked ass in the last...
Ok, all the debates.

He's amazing.
In the DC debate he mocked Bush's plan to go to mars:

"Maybe he thinks he'll find WMD's *there*."

Vintage. Integrity, eloquence, wit, heart...Love 'im.

8. I love Kucinich
I really do. He has incredible passion and vision that most politicians can't hold a candle to. He dares to speak out truths that are controversial but absolutely right. But my lingering impression of Kucinich is that he's too much on the fringe and it's hard for him to reach out to the middle and share his great ideals. First time I saw Kucinich in a debate I thought, "This guy is speaking the truth that many of us believe in, but boy is he angry!".

Right now, I firmly support Wes Clark. I admit he has his failings, but on balance, he is still a great compassionate idealists and would make a great leader for this country who will go down in history books as a visionary. Yes, his military background give me reason to pause, but the more I see and hear from this man, the more my qualms about him disappear. I think Kucinich would make a valuable addition to any Clark administration, maybe as VP or some other key advisory position. One thing is for sure, Clark will assemble the best team of people around him and he'll elevate them to new heights and maximize their potential to do good.

Nonetheless, I wish Kucinich the best of luck. I'll support him in the GE if he's in it, and if he manages to pull it off and becomes President, I'll be a very very happy person!! :)

9. Thank you for your good wishes.
Be sure and catch DK on some of the later debates on tape. He is a fighter for what he believes in,but in a passionate, not angry, way.

Send him some $$ to support your second choice, if you want.

Is there a website anywhere with videos of Kucinich's recent TV appearances? (Something like us4clark.com)

24. Try this speech from early/mid November in Oakland California
Edited on Sun Jan-11-04 07:31 AM by Mairead
Actually you might prefer to skip to the q&a that followed the speech...the speech itself started off as though he were a little jet-lagged and not really warmed up, just like Danny Glover who intro'd him. But the q&a were WONDERFUL, especially his 'what will we have won?' response.

19. Like the media? And all the

people saying "Well, Kucinich is the best but he'll never win so I'm supporting Candidate X"?

Wouldn't it be something if DK won Iowa and New Hampshire? I would love to see all the pundits, pollsters, and late-night network comics completely nonplused. I hate the way they prognosticate and pontificate -- makes me want to regurgitate!
