Support Wes Clark's Band of Sisters
Sisters slam Bush debate performance: Support their ad

The Band of Sisters gathered in New York on the night of the first presidential debate to watch the candidates and share their impressions. Their first-hand knowledge and the experience of their families in Iraq were a stark reality check for the rehearsed, misleading lines repeated by President Bush throughout the debate. Win Back Respect produced this rapid-response ad in order to get the Band of Sisters' message out to the rest of America in this crucial period following the debate, releasing it the next morning. Please contribute now to ensure that thousands of other Americans get to view it.

3. Good job
That's a nice little piece.

Unfortunately, my browser chokes on the other ads on the site. Are they all just as good? Has anybody seen one played on TV?

10. The other three --
The wife of a soldier deployed in Iraq basically asks, "Why is he there?" Two WWII guys talk about WWII, and Roosevelt and Churchill, and the importance of Allies. A father who lost a son on 9/11 talks about Bush "squandering" the goodwill that came our way in the wake of that event. These are not as hard-hitting as the one you saw, but very effective in different ways, dealing with different issues. (I especially like the old soldiers, in "History.")

4. One of the Sisters
is a (new) friend of mine, who came to our Democratic Unity Group in March to talk to us about her new group. She is 'just a mom,' who now has a new mission in life.

Every day, she asks herself (and often the rest of us), "What have I done today to help get John Kerry elected?"

I was so jealous that she got to spend all of that time with Wes, but I sure wouldn't be willing to make the tradeoff that she has - to have a son fighting in a war she knows is wrong. :(

5. Thanks for posting this.
I didn't know anything about this group, and I'm forwarding their link and ad widely.

6. I went to a fundraiser for this! We saw the ads --
they are amazing. My old Clark campaign group was invited, as well as others. The ads, as I understand, will play in swing states where there are large numbers of military families, and Wes Clark, of course, is very involved.

It's really wonderful how many people, each in his or her own way, are involved in this enormous effort to take back our country.

11. I met Captain David and Michelle Harris
in June at the Texas State Democratic Convention. Captain Harris addressed our Wes Clark caucus on behalf of Morris Meyer for Congress.

His message was powerful and had most of us in tears. Neither he nor Michelle told us at the time, but I learned later from one of the veterans groups, that Captain Harris is very likely going to be recalled for another tour of duty. I think of him, his wife and their children everyday.

My young grandson met Captain Harris. My grandson, age 7, remembers all Captain Harris told us, about the lack of vests and other equipment, about the lack of support for the war, among so many of the military. He met a real hero and it isn't a game. There is now a face on the war. For David and Michelle's children, it's so much more than a face. David is their father.

Please support the Band of Sisters!
