More than 65 million people watched JK's awesome debate performance!
From Newsday (New York):

Nearly 63 million viewers watched Thursday's presidential debate, easily ranking it as one of the highest-viewed televised debates in history, with 16 million more viewers than the first debate between George W. Bush and Al Gore in 2000.

Nielsen Media Research said Friday that a total of 62.5 million people tuned into the 90-minute debate on the major networks, although that figure did not include viewers of C-SPAN or public TV. With those sources factored in, the total almost certainly exceeded 65 million.

7. C-span for me, too!
This is really good news that so many more are interested NOW!

Lucky for us that the tv stations didn't pay attention to the rule of .."NO SPLIT SCREENS!":)

5. No, that's US viewers... aka VOTERS!
If even a fraction of them were undecideds who made up their minds then and there to vote Kerry... wow! :)

6. I bet Public Television and CSPAN got A Lot of Viewers
Edited on Fri Oct-01-04 09:49 PM by AndyTiedye
Probably a lot more than 2,000,000.
A lot of us have flocked to CSPAN to avoid the media whores.
The split-screen coverage that CSPAN did was particularly revealing also.

70,000,000 for all television outlets combined would not be out of the question.
Then some people watched it on the internet or listened on the radio, I suppose.
