The propaganda machine is at work
This paragraph caught my eye:

"Three post-debate polls suggested voters were impressed by Kerry, with most of those surveyed saying he did better than Bush. Such instant polls reflect the views of debate watchers and not the public at large. Initial reactions to a debate can change after a few days have passed. "

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20041001/ap_on_el_pr/debate_rdp&cid=694&ncid=716

I translate this to mean, "You may think Kerry won now, but after we spend a few days declaring Bush the glorious winner, you'll change your mind."

1. Rather bold, aren't they?
"Such instant polls reflect the views of debate watchers and not the public at large."

Hmmm... So the debate watchers feel that Kerry won... but we should wait a few days to learn what a bunch of people who didn't see the debate think?

Kind of you to admit that the news media will somehow allow itself to be a pawn in twisting reality, but...

Go cheney yourself!!

5. No, it won't work
Too one-sided.

It was a slaughter. Unspinnable.

Watched the next few days, and it will spin into an anti-Bush debacle.

6. The rest of the article................
seems to gloss over the fact that Kerry was perceived as the winner. From reading the rest of it you'd think that it was Bush in a slam dunk. No bias here, hey?
