President Bush has thrown Sen. John F. Kerry's words back on him during nearly every speech of the campaign, but he rocked back in irritation during the first presidential debate Thursday night when the Massachusetts senator did the same thing to him

Bush's aides knew that his temper was a potential vulnerability, and his debate coaching sessions included practice in not getting rattled. But the camera shutters started snapping as the president shot a look into the University of Miami Convocation Center when Kerry seized on Bush's refrain that "the enemy hit us" and to point out that was not Saddam Hussein.
......
And the best line:

Bush's apparent annoyance at the idea of Kerry as the commander in chief was perhaps the debate's clearest emotion. Bush even used the phrase he uses to rebuke offending journalists: "Let me finish."

2. Bush Was HOSTILE and ANGRY
It can't be said enough!

I thought he was going to leap over the podium and strangle Lehrer for daring to question him!

4. And smirky
I watched the debate on NBC. They had a split screen throughout the debate. Bush was sighing, smirking, squinting and looking seriously unpresidential the entire time. He did his slouching over the podium thinging that I find so annoying and "unpresidential." He was cocky beyond belief.

He looked way out of his league against Kerry. If people were looking for an excuse to vote for Keryy over Bush they got it tonight.

6. YES!!! The SECOND I heard Bush say "the enemy" I knew
that Kerry should come back with the enemy being Al Qaeda, not Saddam Hussein. And that's exactly what he did. It was BEAUTIFUL!

7. When Kerry got that zinger off...
about the enemy that hit us not being Saddam I thought Chimps head was going to explode! The slit screen on that was really nice! LOL!

I thought the best part of the debate tonight is how well it will play for the most of the people in the country. The ones who are not into politics like we are, the ones who are not as informed as we are. This debate was on their level.

Kerry's best points in this debate tonight were about Chimp letting Bin Laden go free to go after Saddam. I was thrilled that he mentioned what all of us wanted him to mention... that when we had Bin Laden cornered in Tora Bora Chimp and his crew failed to take him out! That was great! Will play very well to all those so called "Security Moms"

8. Good. Just the early media will read this way
It's two hours so far and Aaron Brown has it at a draw. He KNOWS Kerry was the runaway winner- you can tell- but they are twisting it to say the both did well. Real Twilight Zone.

The BEST now is Kerry did well but it didn't move the needle, like they have ANYthing on which to base that assertion.

9. Kristol: Cheney has to clean up shrub's mess next week.
That's a pretty stark admission of defeat, if you ask me.

And if anyone thinks Cheney can beat up on Edwards, they are about to get a wake up call.

Counting on Cheney for a recovery.... yeah, right.
