Bush was "Gore" this time!
He was arrogant, impatient, and short-tempered. And he SIGHED.

I have nothing at all against Al Gore. But it was good to see Bush on the losing end, in much the same way Gore was four years before. But then, much of Gore's problem was right-wing corporate media spin. Bush's problem was his own self-deceit and lack of humility catching up with him, in spades, at last.

1. You know, I was thinking the same thing
Gore won the 2000 debate on substance, but not style.

This time Bush kept talking and talking and talking and saying the same thing over and over.

Bush was definitely on the defensive.

Kerry looked cool and calm and informed. Best of all, he kept his answers short and easy to understand while not talking down to the listeners.

2. I was thinking that too
And did anyone else notice the time when, as the green light came on, he kind of scowled and said "now just let me finish," even though nobody had interrupted him, and the green light meant he had thirty seconds left? That was nice and weird.

I think he did fine and it was pretty even for thirty minutes, and then gw just fell apart.

Kerry totally dominated.

Bush was unsure, hesitant and kept talking about the past.

5. Bush was much worse than Gore
Gore at least had some substance to his answers. Bush not only looked disgusted the whole time, but he offered little more than points from his attack ads.

6. Will the "liberal" media give Chimpy a pass on arrogance, impatience etc.?
