well, like all of you, i've voted in every online poll I could find ... the concern I have though, is that winning the debate will not translate into effective arguments to win more votes ...
voting in online polls is important and there's no reason not to do it ... but it's way more important to educate the voting public on WHY Kerry won the debate ... we need to pick up on the most effective points he made tonight ...
toward that end, and please add your own questions to this list, I would start asking everyone I know the following questions:
1. did bush give the voters any reason to believe he was willing to reassess his failed policies in Iraq? 2. how concerned are you that bush has focussed so heavily on Iraq while Iran and North Korea have developed substantial nuclear programs? 3. while at times the U.S. may have to "go it alone", can you understand the high price we, and our troops, are paying now because so many of our alliances have been so badly damaged since bush took office? 4. would anyone actually want 4 more years of what's happening now in Iraq? what indication did bush give that he has any plan other than to doggedly continue down this same road? 5. do you believe bush offered any defense whatsoever for outsourcing the final capture of Osama bin Laden to bands of warlords instead of using our highly trained Special Forces units to capture him when we had him surrounded in Tora Bora ?
i often find it more effective to ask questions like these than to make strongly partisan arguments that people just turn off to ... let the person you're speaking to defend their position (if they really want to) rather than you having to make your case ...
were there other key points President Kerry made tonight that should be included ??
