Bush defeated him self
Edited on Thu Sep-30-04 09:45 PM by Bran Bal
WOW!

I am certainly VERY pleased with the results of tonight’s debate.

The first 5 minutes I was thinking "holy shit bush might actually come across well". Fortunately within the next 20 minutes he was crashing. BADLY.

My two greatest worries were

1. Bush would come across well enough that the masses wouldn't see any major problem with him.

and

2. We would be able to skip out on one or both of the next debates.

It was clear to ANYONE - except one in DEEP denial or was just plain not paying attention - that bush didn't have a bloody clue. He obviously did NOT KNOW WHAT TO SAY on MULTIPLE occasions. Deer in the headlight look and "I don't know shit" impression all the way.

He either stumbled over him self, remained silent, refused to answer, or repeated him self constantly. Kerry was fresh with new material, and he was clear and concise - NONE of this on his part.

Now - while this won't change the mind of any in the bush base I am 100% convinced the middle will be influenced heavily towards kerry after this. Can't wait for the next polls.

If bush comes across like this once or twice more he will have finished him self off. Quite possibly he already did. Kerry was great. Best advice to him is STAY AS YOU ARE!

Rove is probably freaking out at this moment. Probably has already placed an order for an ear piece. (which, by the way, I can conclusively say the moron was not using as he had no material at all)

Bush no longer can skip the next two debates. Not with the impression he left tonight. The ONLY hope for him is to do a 180 and come back looking competent. So long as he doesn't get an ear piece I don't see it happening. He's had a lot of time to prepare. If this is the best rove could get him to do it's over.

2. Media said that this debate was Kerry's to win
if Kerry came off as presidential, then undecideds (esp. those ABB types) would vote for him.

4. Yeah, what was up with Bush and all that twitching and blinking?
I watched it on CSPAN, did the other channels do the split screen the entire time? Bush looked like he was really spazzing when he wasn't talking.

6. CNN had split screen sometimes
Most of the time when bu$h* was talking, Kerry was taking notes; most of the time when Kerry was talking, bu$h* was fidgeting and/or smirking.
