What I learned from cable "news" today.
After a six week self-imposed cable news blackout, I spent an hour checking out the pre-debate coverage this a.m.

Here's what I learned:

A black, female, registered democrat is a typical undecided voter in this election.

Printed receipts from Florida's electronic voting machines are unnecessary b/c butterfly ballots didn't have them either  and/or they are a violation of privacy .

If Kerry wins the debate he may rise a bit in the polls. If * wins the debate he will have "sealed the deal" and Kerry can just hang it up and go back to the senate.

Floridians looooove jebbie and georgie.

We are fortunate to have * in the WH about now b/c he is able to simultaneously prepare for the debate, comfort Florida's hurricane victims AND save Kerry's ass from a debate-inspired terrorist attack.

Did I miss anything?

2. Yeah, Bush is the second coming of Jesus and Kerry uses Botox...
From Edward R Murrow and Walter Cronkite to Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity; TV news continues its downward slide...

:wtf:

3. Just this
Bush talked to God today.

God said "Kerry by 5% in the GE - trust me, I've got connections."

Bush said "go Cheney yourself" - then went to church.

Media only reported going to church part.

12. Huh?
Bush doesn't attend church. Reagan didn't either. I guess both of them would claim regular private meetings with God, so they don't need to.

4. I haven't watched for a couple of weeks... but curious...
is the Scott Peterson trial over? If you watched long enough to glean the information you did, you at least got three updates.

Please pass them on.

9. Someone on DU said the other day
That "watching cable news and complaining about the content and spin is like beating yourself in the face with a dead fish and then complaining about the pain and the smell."

I think of that every time I click by CNN MSNBC or FOX.

8. I haven't listened or watched for days, not even NPR
Thanks for reminding me. I think I'll call up and cancel all but the bare bones of channels.

It's so nice not to have the "clutter" going on.

Cher
