So what do we know about Jim Lehrer?

I watch the Lehrer newshour sometimes, and it seems fairly neutral, and much like watching greige paint drying.


however, is lehrer one to stir the waters, ask the tough questions and keep going til he gets an answer?

but he's about the fairest we could expect given the nature of the right wing control of the media....

He says he believes in letting the viewers decide for themselves whether his questions have been answered rather than aggressively challenging a non-answer.

I know more than I feel ok posting here, due to lurking Freepers, and cause it's not my place to, but I can assure you he is no Bush-lover. I've seen a lot of posts here accusing him of such, and all I can say is, that just shows how good a job he does at hiding his personal feelings.

He gave the commencement speech at my brother's graduation. he was pretty good.

He did say 'I'm not entertainment', which puts him above most 'journalists' these days.

Lehrer says about himself that he has no political affiliation and his personal opinions are strictly neutral, so he doesn't vote.

I find that appallingly mush brained, I don't know about anyone else. The guy has spent decades interviewing thousands of people whose policies impact our lives and his own - and he hasn't formed any opinions about anything that would move him to express them, at least privately, by voting?

So I'd expect the questions to be fair.
