In addition to assuring Ohioans that their pennies were really five-dollar gold pieces, Bush announced that "as a result of the United States military, the Taliban is no longer in existence." (Yes, he really said that!)

Due to a communications failure, however, the Afghani President Hamid Karzai was not aware of this and continues to struggle for his political (and physical)life with scant support from the US. Apparently as a muslim, Mr. Karzai's direct connection with Ultimate Truth is not as reliable as the born-again Bush's.
