Is your employer giving you time to vote on Nov 2nd?
From MoveOn.org

--------------

Dear MoveOn member,

Earlier today, we asked you to reach out to your employer to discuss your
company's policies on time to vote on Election Day, November 2nd.

The response to this message has been overwhelming -- a positive sign that so
many MoveOn members are taking this matter seriously.

However, the hotline we encouraged you to call is not the best place to learn
your state's voter leave laws for employers. To make sure you know your
rights, please go instead to:

http://www.timetovote.net/voter_leave_laws.html

or email:

info@timetovote.net

If you feel that your employer is not respecting these laws, or if you see
things happening in your local area that suggest that the election is not being
administered with integrity, please call the Election Protection Toll-Free
Hotline at 1-866-OUR-VOTE (1-866-687-8683).

But please don't call it now to find out your state's voter leave laws. For
that, please refer to the website or the email address above.

Also, to find out more about Election Protection and to find your state's Voter
Bill of Rights, please visit:

http://www.electionprotection2004.org

Thank you.

Sincerely,

- Peter Schurman

2. No problem for me.
I generally leave work in plenty of time to vote & don't have a long commute.

On that day, I'll be sure to leave in time!

5. That's great!

For those who have employers who are not giving you time to vote, follow the directions given by MoveOn to try and secure some time!

6. I'm the employer and I have one employee and YES,
he's a democrat--a young guy (26) who is very enthused about voting and who, after watching Farenheit 9/11, registered 10 people (some of his friends) as Democrats.

I'm giving him the day off (PAID) and his mission is to get himself, his girlfriend, and ALL 10 of his friends to the voting booth on Nov. 2nd!

I told him that today and he grinned and said "Really? Cool!"

7. Doing my part!

I employ about 25 people and all but three are Democrats (that I can tell). So everyone get's to take off if they promise to go vote. Of course, here in Tennessee we have early voting so a lot of people will probably won't need to do that.

Democratic employers out there - Do your part - make it easy for your employees to vote (unless you think they're going to make a foolish decision....:-).

9. Self employed and I am demanding my employees vote.
Even the two Bush supporters. I am going to drive seniors to the polls. I am going to drive around town and ask everyone I see if they have voted yet. If they haven't I will offer them a ride. If they wind up voting for Bush, so be it! The right to vote is a precious, precious thing and should not be held hostage because of ideology. I'll try to convince Bushies to vote for Kerry as I drive them anyway.

I can't vote, but I still participate.
