Serious Registration Question
My uncle just moved in with my mother. His former home was New Jersey. Mom is in Queens. He has obtained a change of address card from the post office and filled it out and submitted it. Does this mean he can no longer vote in New Jersey?

Also, although New York goes Democratic for the Presidency, many local offices fall to Republicans, especially in Queens.

What should my uncle do? How much time does he have to do it?

1. It's usually 30 days; at least around here, a situation like that is self-
select for preference as to where he votes. He needs to be re-registered, if he's going to re-register, by Oct 2, so ASAP.

At least here, we chose which county we were going to vote in. (we have two houses, and decided to live in the one with the quieter neighborhood in June, after a car fire, a house fire, and a series of breakins.) We have not re-registered, and are voting in our old county.

2. I think the New York deadline is Oct. 8.

Unless re-registering has a different deadline  . This has a list of deadlines, most of them in the next 10 days.

3. The postmark deadline for NY voter registration is October 8
A pre-addressed form should be available at his local post office and from the internet.
