It just struck me that the election is a little more than a month away...

Wow, I simply cannot believe it. Sure I've been paying attention to the dates.

Today I attended a speech/rally with Michael Moore. It was part of his swing state college tour. The turnout was really encouraging and MM really excited the crowd. He even showed us clips from the F 9/11 DVD. If you get a chance to attend (if he's in your state), I would definetely attend.

But God. It's only a little more than a month away. I remember a year ago thinking, it's only a year away. I remember hoping that the person installed by the supreme court would be evicted. I envisioned democratic inaugral balls. I envisioned the world lighting fireworks in celebration.

I have been on DU for the entire formal campaign season. I joined in the summer of '03. I saw the primaries. I saw just about every debate in the primaries as well. I remember the suspense the night before the IA caucus. I also remember thinking, if I'm this nervous for this, imagine how I'll be on the day of the general election.

But the timing didn't sink in until today. It just seemed to struck me that voter registrations are due Mon in my state, the first debates are tomorrow...

I hope all the work that has been put in by so many will pay off...That the hopes, dreams, and futures have some opportunity of being fulfilled. The last four years have not been the American I learned about in grade school...the America that I loved and admired.

I still love this country and will fight with everything I have to restore it. With another four years, I'm afraid I won't even WANT to recognize it.

So, please keep the faith. Keep a positive outlook. If you are going around with a Gallup poll in mind that shows Kerry down 10 points, then the excitement will die. I know it's difficult. I struggle myself to not let the polls affect me. Make a last minute push to get people registered and once the deadlines have passed, make sure the people get to the polls. I just cannot believe and refuse to believe that a majority of people support what has happened to this country in a span of just four years.

God, help us (and I'm a not big believer or religious).

2. What concerns me is that, no matter who wins, America will go crazy.
If we win, the rightwingers simply won't accept it. Look at how one Republican strategist is now saying that Dems (by registering minority voters in increased numbers) are trying to steal the election.

And we already know THEY stole the last one. If they try it again, our side is going to go nuts.

No matter what, I fear blood in the streets following the election.

3. I hope and pray
violence does not take hold on the streets, but I also hope that if there is any evidence of fraud, the people will not sit back.

I also hope that if Bush does take office again no draft will be reinstated. I'm of draft eligabality (I'm 24) and while I'm at the higher draft age, what worries me are my younger friends. This is not to mention, my other friend that is in the reserve and has been trying to keep the possibility of being shipped off there out of his mind. My friend is in college and is studying. He wants to make a better life for himself.

No more should die for Bush's disasterous policies. Too much blood has been spilt.

4. I'm 29, I'm not safe either. Actually, if b*sh stays in, NO ONE is safe!
And I hope there is no violence either. But I see it happening.

If they steal it again, and we sit back and take it, then fuck this country. The people will truly deserve what they didn't prevent. I'll be watching the Democratic leadership very carefully this time around.

5. IS there a list of colleges Michael Moore is screening F 9/11?
I'd love to get the few GOP and undecided students at UCLA to view the film.
