Poll: Clark second
in NH behind Dean


WASHINGTON (AP) — Wesley Clark has edged slightly ahead of John Kerry to move into second place behind Howard Dean in the New Hampshire Democratic Presidential race, according to a tracking poll out yesterday.

Clark, a retired general, has been gaining ground in national polls and is trying to position himself as the alternative to Dean, the former governor of Vermont. Dean had the backing of 35 percent of likely primary voters in the New Hampshire poll. Clark was supported by 18 percent while Kerry, a senator from Massachusetts, had 12 percent.

A year ago, Kerry led Dean by a 2-1 margin in this poll.

Clark has been moving up steadily in the tracking poll, but campaign aides don’t expect him to catch Dean in the state. They are looking ahead to more competitive races in the South and West.

This article shows the highest poll ranking iv'e seen for Clark in NH thus far. He is really catching on in a big way in NH.

continually clicking on threads that contain the word "Clark" in the title when you don't intend to, I would recommend buying a new mouse. Your's seems to have problems.

Campaign. These folks expected more from a soldier and are looking for another hired gun.

11. Not bad...he has half the voter support as Dean.
Unfortunately, trailing by half is not going to cut it, especially with the election around the corner. Clark chose not to compete in Iowa- if he loses in the only early primary he's contesting, expectations will be reset regarding his "electability".

where once you get to 6 you start back over at one. We use a base 10, so 7 would be in effect the value of an 11 in base 6 ;) (you see, one higher than the base?)

Ya not a pure way to explain it, but it works.

27. The base-6 primer

Our conventional numbering system is base-10, i.e. numbers 0-9. Base 6 is numbers 0-5. Ergo:

base 10 base 6
1 1
2 2
3 3
4 4
5 5
6 10 (or "1" 6, nothing else, for a total of 6)
7 11 (or "1" 6, "1" 1, for a total of seven)
8 12
9 13
10 14


12 in base 6 would be 20 (i.e. "2" sixes and nothing else)

How about that?!?

15. I think u have it wrong
Considering Dean has been campiagning there for almost 2 years and Clark for a few months, Clark is doing great. Lets not even bring into the amount of money Dean has unloaded there, along with the media hype, until very recently.

That Dean balloon will soon be bust.

24. I had a thread several days ago that Clark getting 25% would KO Dean
I think it will shut off the enevitibility factor and force Dean to go mano mano. There will be no running away and hiding. Besides, Dean's run out of wedge issues and his record and his record of gaffes will be concentrated on like a laser beam. Dean just isn't disciplined enough or humble enough to win over middle America. Dean's on quarantine from the press right now, right before the caucus. It's what they call in football, a "prevent" defense. You give up touchdowns in a controlled slow manner. The only problem is that you're giving up touchdowns. Clark's scoring on Dean now.

Clark's an imminently better candidate, and IMHO president, than Dean. I'm looking forward to Democrats demonstrating their good taste and judgment by nominating General Wesley Clark. :kick:
