1. Don't trust him
Edited on Tue Sep-28-04 08:04 PM by goclark

He thought it was so funny when Bush made those "not funny" remarks to the Press Corp about the WMD.

I also heard him get real, real mad at something a Democrat said..don't trust him at ALL.

Is Gwen Ifill, Condi's best friend, still doing the 3rd debate?

8. One of the reasons I stopped watching GMA...............
was that Charlie acted like a real bastard and gave the right-wing spin on every story.

16. Ifill, Condi's best friend?... I had No idea!
This explains alot. I remember Ifill during the Dem Primary. I only knew her from PBS and was very surprised in her manner of moderating. I knew then she was leaning repuke!

2. He is on Good Morning America every morning....
Edited on Tue Sep-28-04 07:58 PM by tjdee
He's the main guy next to Diane Sawyer.

It's hard to say. I'm somewhat surprised at the choice, because he has been the "nice ABC morning man" for a few years now--I'm sure he has some kind of credentials, not sure what. I remember when he and Sawyer started doing GMA, the big thing was that they were both supposedly such great hard news people.

He's seemed immensely likeable on GMA when I catch it...come to think of it, I wonder if this was a Bush choice, i.e., softball questions.
Don't know what he's like other than that.

This is a long post basically meaning I don't know. :silly:

5. He'll say anything to make you like him -
Dianne Sawyer, same way. Human interest stuff is their idea of news. Not journalists, really - entertainers.

15. Sawyer and Gibson are repukes
Gibson, back in the Dem Primary stage went after Kerry double barrels blazing for really no other purpose except to make a story and tarnish Kerry's name!

Sawyer just recently on Larry king mentioned she worked in a repuke administration. I forget what title and for which president.

17. Diane Sawyer worked for Nixon
... Sawyer held several positions in the Nixon administration. She was part of the Nixon-Ford transition team from 1974 to 1975.
She also assisted former President Nixon in the writing of his memoirs in 1974 and 1975.

20. Ok
When she was blabbering on King, I pretty much ignored her. Her mention of working in Washington made me do a double take.

13. Yes, IIRC, Gibson prodded Kerry this Spring until Kerry...
... made an overly harsh comment on the RNC, Rethugs or Bush. I don't remember the comment, and can't find a link on the web. Grrr...

9. Right Wing Whore, all the way
Charles Gibson is the reason I quit watching GMA. He's waaaaay right wing, * supporter whose fondest wish is to be related to Mel Gibson (they're not, but Charlie fawns all over Mel everytime he is on the show).

Bush lover all the way.

10. Think of a scoop of vanilla ice cream, served on some whitebread.
You'll be halfway to how snowy white, and totally non-threatening this guy is...prepare for some arcing softball questions.

12. He may be right-wing...
but I've never really noticed him to be overtly political on GMA or when he occasionally takes over for Jennings on the Nightly News.

14. He's a old-time Republican. Probably not such a neo-con type as
a country club Republican. Lots of these types don't like Bush at all. Don't like the Falwell/Robertson wing of the party.

But Charlie Gibson declared himself a Republican years and years ago.

19. Charlie Gibson is a tool
He was a huge cheerleader for the war.

He will likely gush over everything Bush says and be overly critical of anything Kerry says.

I think I'm going to :puke:

21. Gibson does a fair version of the Reagan "head bobble"
which probably took him some time to hone.

That and Sawyer's ingratiating habit of coming sidearm with her head at a 45 degree angle and the never-ending fluff and human interest format makes me nostalgic for Chet Huntley and even, God forbid, David Brinkley.

But on the other channel you can watch former sports reporter now serious journalist Hannah Storm interview Michael Moore...

Laugh-tracks, commercials and the morning wasteland: 3 reasons why I gave up my TV and ain't looking back.
