Edited on Tue Sep-28-04 06:11 PM by ih8thegop
One day I think "Oh, Joy!" The next day I think "Oh, crud." I go back and forth. Right now I'm on the upside.

I didn't feel this way about the 2000 election. I just knew it was going to be close right up until the end.

Does anyone else feel the same way?

2. I've been praying since before....
the 2000 election, and haven't stopped praying yet. Should we start
a 'prayer chain' for this election? We need help from a much higher source, fer sure!

Peace

4. Yes, Today Is My Down Day. Woman Who Works At My Family Business
said she hates Bush but would rather stick with evil she knows. Kerry "Flip Flops"

I did my best to ease in on the "Bush is no Republican.. he's a radical" bit.

8. I'm praying and praying off and on all the time.....
Today I'm having a schizophrenic day! I went walking my precinct and there were a lot of Dems, registered 2 people and recruited another volunteer to help with Spanish speaking people. Then I come home and get on here and all the polls and the TV are being so negative! I am having a "frightened" moment right now from reading all the posts so far!

15. I guess the word is "bipolar" not schizophrenic although
I am a little paranoid today about BBV and the polls, too.

9. Me too.
I couldn't sleep a few nights ago and have been in constant torment, especially since 'Shock and Awe'. My country is murdering innocent people abroad, and the people I live amongst don't give a damn.

I'm terrified of what I'll do if Bush is re-installed. I don't believe I can survive another 4 years of this. The thoughts that have run through my head have been ugly and desparate, though I know who I am and would never hurt another human being because of a fucking ideology. Bush is the first human being I've hated non-stop for 3 years, or even hated. He is shedding innocent blood in our name and destroying the country I love.

I've probably been certifiable since that day on December 9, 2001 when I heard on the radio that the USSC stopped the recount. I won't even tell you what ran through my mind when I heard that, but it was probably the worst thought I'd ever had to that point.

I may lose one of my long time friends because she will not vote. If her son is drafted, I'll never forgive her for not voting. She actually gets angry if I mention it. She's been hurt and has become very anti-social. Anyway, that's about the gist of it. The bottom line is, Kerry MUST win!

12. Same here
I must admit my lows are not nearly so low since I stopped watching cable opinion.

I actually feel connected with the issues MORE since I stopped watching. It's really a nice effect.

I'm about 70% certain we'll win right this moment, and that's on a so-so day.

14. I've kind of shut down emotionally
since the primaries. They kind of sucked all the emotional energy out of me and now I'm feeling fairly numb and detached.

I think it's better that way. I can work more constructively without the mood swings, or the intense emotional investment.

In 2000, the bad guys had to really overplay their hand to steal the election. Since then, its been non stop "push the neo con" agenda. We must stop it here, or it will be too late. I suggest that is why your mood swings are so prevalent. This is not just any election. If this much damage has been done in 4 years, what would the next 4 years under this regime bring us?

I am as well

I dont know. The BUsh administration and Republicans are engaging in virtually every possible way of cheating in order to keep democrats from voting. Corporate controlled Pollsters are fixing the polls in Republican favor. In places like Ohio which has seen a 250 percent increase in Democrats registering to vote, but only a 25 percent increase among new Republicans, a Republican official is trying to disenfranchise new Democrats.

If anything can has convinced me that the United States is rapidly becoming a right wing dictatorship, it is the fact that these actions can be gotten awaty with without som much as a whimper from the media.

The worse thing is that Democrats have almost no one to blame but themselves. The run for the nomination gave Bush a great deal of the ammunition that he is using against Kerry, by Democartic candidates trying to push the label of Flip Flopper onto Kerry Kerry. without objection from other democrats, pretty much laying out Bush's campaign strategy for him.

Then others on the left, deciding to support Nader which pulls some votes away from Kerry in very crritical states.Republicans have backed Naders run, yet Democrats have doe little to encourage the two parties that could cost Bush some votes. the Libertarians and the Constitution party. In states like Florida, these two parties togetther, are polling as well, or better than Nader, but with encouragement from the right Democrats. both could take considerably more votes away from Bush than Nader can from Kerry.

19. We had the rug pulled out from under us in 2000 - many people are
angry and will do something about it, but are, at the same time, fearful that something worse will result in another rug being pulled out. What it also means is that the right wing pulled a coup in 2000 and may pull a worse one because they cannot be trusted, they are un-American, and have too much to gain in their model of what the world should be in order for them to win. They are determined to pull a we win-you lose again. They are dishonest and unreal.

20. The trouble is as Jefferson said:
"From the nature of man we may be sure, that those who have power in their hands will not give it up while they can retain it. On the contrary we know they will always when they can rather increase it."

What we saw done in the 2000 election is something we can be sure will be repeated. We can see it happening in Ohio where a Republican in high office is attempin to do what was done in Florida, that is to disenfranchise thousands of voters, because they are not Republican voters" This more than anything should worry anyone who wants to make sure that we retain our freedom and do not slowly slip down into dictatorship.
