Isn't it interesting? Good poll news disappears while bad polls thrive
Edited on Tue Sep-28-04 04:00 PM by WI_DEM
Earlier today there was a poll for Christian science Monitor which gave Kerry a one-point lead--that poll has disappeared off of the front page of GD2004 while posts about the bad Pew and Gallup polls thrive.

Why don't people get as excited about good poll news as they do about bad?

By the way if anyone cares, Rasmussen still has it pretty close Bush 48 and Kerry 46--pretty much what it has been all month with them.

On Edit:
I see since I posted this that some good souls have pushed those good polls up.

1. I just got home and posted about this poll.
But I was surprised I didn't see it on the front page. :wtf:

2. My theory on polls..
is that as long as Kerry is within 5% nationally, it's anybody's race. And if the swing states show ties, they'll mostly tip to Kerry.. just as it happened with Gore in 2000.

3. Dubious polls showing Bush ahead are favored by whore news
because they see the idea of the inveitability of a second Bush term as suppressing the new Democrat vote. I mean, why bother to get up an hour early or get home an hour late to vote on a workday if nothing you do counts? That's the reasoning they're hoping will take root out there in workaday land.

Remember, folks, the right doesn't want working people to vote, ever. Give them the finger by making the effort to get out there and VOTE!!!

4. We should be used to propaganda by now.
The polls lately are all about lowering expectations for Kerry voters. The GOP did this last time, too. They want us to GIVE UP and STAY HOME on election day. I'm sure the pundits in the major news media outlets will Bush the debates, too. They also did that the last time. Don't fall for it.

5. I rarely pay attention to the poll threads
I almost never post in them, good or bad. But that Pew poll upset me for some reason. :(

6. I kicked a bunch of them up.
after seeing your post.

But inevitably they will sink and the hand wringing will continue.

Where you will find a stunning article outlining the absolute hogwash that was the polling in the runnup to the last election. PLEASE READ THE ARTICLE.

From that thread, here is what CNN posted on OCTOBER 27, 2000
(A CNN / USA TODAY / GALLOP POLL):

11. Don't trust the polls and listen to Moore and put away hankies
I think most of us want Kerry to win so bad the mere thought of it not happening is freaky. I think most of us know that the real people want Kerry and there are more of us. We are afraid of them cheating and stealing the election again and wondering what we can do about it. I think for now we should continue to do all we can to get Kerry elected, fight against all lies and if God forbid they steal it we all revolt across America.

So for now stay positive and believe Kerry will win. In back of mind be ready to revolt. That is what I will do.

12. I GIVE UP.
I had to kick the IBD/CSM poll again when it disappeared to the archives. Apparently this new generation of DUers is opposed to good news!
