Is anybody registering people at Beauty Salons? I got my hair cut
yesterday and after talking to the girls working in there, I am taking back registration cards and absentee ballot request forms.

The person cutting my hair is a Dem and so is her boyfriend. He was voting absentee and she couldn't figure out why no one had contacted her - she has moved since the last time she voted.

The receptionist asked how she could get an absentee ballot because she will be out of town on election day.

I told them I would bring in some voter registration cards and absentee ballot applications tomorrow.

I also told them that the Dems will pick up people's absentee ballots for them and deliver them to the auditor's office(I got trained to do this yesterday.

Is anybody else going to these places to register people? It seems like a goldmine.

Are we trying to do anything to make sure that people that have moved and not updated their info will still get to vote? After reading how they will not count provisional ballots in Ohio if they are done at the wrong polling place, this makes me very nervous.

1. Not the Salon but Curves and Work
I've registered women at Curves and just about everybody I can find at work. Yesterday, one of my co-workers mentioned that a guy in the mailroom was getting his citizenship a week after the NY deadline. I called the local election board and learned he can register in person at his local office until October 22nd. I told him that and the hours that he could go, which completely cover his commute and work hours. He said he didn't think he could get there because he couldn't afford to get docked for missing part or all of a work day. I spoke to his manager and got him an excused absence so he can go register to vote. I explained that since the firm allows us time to go vote, the firm must also allow time to register to vote. One voter at a time, we're taking our country back.

3. good idea!
when I was at mine 2 weeks ago, they couldn't stop dissing the wife of the GOP candidate for governor here. They were disgusted by her, and her nanny.

This is a voter reg effort aimed at beauty salons. They sent out packets of postcards, nail files, and registration info and people set them up at salons.
