I cycled the Apple Cider Century on Sunday and I'm pleased to report that I saw A LOT of Kerry signs. I especially liked the set up on the corner as everyone was leaving the school. They had big Kerry signs, small U.S. flags and another sign that said "Support Our Troops."
I really think some thought went into crafting that message: You can still be patriotic American and support the average soldier AND vote for Kerry. About 4,500 people took part in the ride, so the message really got out there.
There were a number of other Kerry signs along the 100-mile route. I'm not sure if this was a coordinated effort or people just happened to have them in their yard.
I did see a few Bush signs, but it ran about 4-to-1. The one that stood out the most was this one in front of this palatial house on a sprawling estate. It really stuck out in an area of small towns, farms and woods. Wonder why the owner would be voting for Bush? I guess his huge tax cut is more important than the suffering of the soldiers in Iraq or his fellow citizens.
Anyway, if you don't have a sign up in your yard yet, GET ONE! It really makes an impression on the casual observer.
