From the start, Bush and Co. implied that Iraq would be a quick war. And Bush clearly thought we were down to a "mopping up" operation when he did his little aircraft carrier stunt 18 months ago.
He was caught TOTALLY flat-footed when we were not "hailed as liberators" and had no plan for how to react.
This is despite the fact that he was warned by the Pentagon. He chose to listen to the ideologues around him instead of the generals.
That kind of massive incompetence should not be rewarded. we can't afford another "miscalculation." Next time, it could mean nuclear war.
We need COMPETENCE at the helm. And for that reason, Kerry is the only good choice.
