ANALYSIS: Bush changes view of Putin's Russia ( "Changes View" )
ANALYSIS: Bush changes view of Putin's Russia

By KEN GUGGENHEIM, ASSOCIATED PRESS

WASHINGTON (AP) - When he first ran for president, George W. Bush talked tough on Russia. He threatened to cut off international aid if Moscow continued "killing women and children, leaving orphans and refugees" in its war in Chechnya.

This year, as president, Bush casts Russia not as an oppressor, but as a victim of terror - even as fighting continues in Chechnya and President Vladimir Putin moves to consolidate power in ways seen as threatening the country's fledgling democracy.

It's a shift that reflects the common cause Bush and Putin found in fighting terrorism after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks and the personal relationship they had developed even before then.

It's also a change that fits neatly into Bush's re-election campaign.

2. Blank check for Chechnya... Or rather for those ready to "promote
democracy" there. There you have it... the culmination of the bush doctrine.... choose your sides... and bury your head in the sand. I'm tellin you now... this guy is intentionally pushing for WWIII. I believe they want it... and will do whatever is necessary to bring it about.

3. Horse shit! Bush and Putin* are soulmates and no matter WHAT Bush
says, that will remain true.

If anything, Bush* is JEALOUS of Putin's "reform" and wishes he could get on with his own, similar "reforms".

Though I suspect it will start in earnest during the reigns of Emperors Jeb and Arnold.

6. Dumbya & Putin = 2 Dictators in Training
Didn't the Dumbya Christ look deep into Putin's soul, and found him to be a kindred spirit of Dumbya.

I remember the FREEKERS went all weak kneed over how their precious Dumbya Christ had the power of the Almighty to do that.

4. For one reason: the state might buy all or parts of Yukos when it goes up
for sale at auction, or, if it's sold to private companies at auction, Putin won't fix the auction so that Bush cronies can get it for less than it's worth.

5. Bush and Putin are marching their Countries to wards full
dictatorships. It suits both of their ambitious needs for the other to continue ravaging every possible obstruction to their goal of total dictatorships, "partners in crime" so to speak. After both have succeeded, then they might turn on each other.

7. Yep. Just like Hitler vs. Stalin
Right now they are still busy crush their own people beneath the Iron Boot of Totalitarianism.

But they WILL turn their sights on each other eventually.

What else could New Hitler and New Stalin do?

8. Exactly! It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out.
Yet, millions of Americans are sporting American flags and Bush/Cheney
stickers on their cars. It is ironic that they are feeling great about how patriotic they are while fully cooperating with the take over of the U.S. by a criminal gang. I predict a wave of suicides if and when they ever start to realize what damage they've done to their Country, mankind and the Earth in general.
