How important is a Democratic Senate ?
IF Bush somehow wins or steals another election, no one knows what will happen in the next four years. Four more huge taxcuts? Two trillion dollars more in debt? One or two more wars? No one knows.

But it would be somewhat of an insurance policy against tyranny and dictatorship if we had one of the branches of Congress. The Democratic Party has never been a party of the Presidency. It is about Congress and the representatives of the people. Should we focus more on winning the Senate in these last 6 weeks?

1. It is of vital importance
but not all states have elections this year for Senate. Mine doesn't but in two years I'll be out there campaigning for someone (probably Mark Warner) to run against George Allen in Virginia.

4. God, I despise George Allen.
If I'm still living in this state, I'll be out there as well trying to get that asshole from being my representative.

2. I think it is absolutely imperative
if Bush is elected we absolutely NEED it!!

if Kerry is elected we still need it because we will be bickering over center left candidates instead of center right candidates and we need some leftist candidates to replace what we have from Bush these last four years.

3. Illinois is safe
A rather decent GOPer was kicked out by the criminal scum. Their current candidate, a pathetic, loud-mouthed ultra-religious, hypocritical lout, Alan Keyes, is polling at 16% according to a recent report.

On the other hand, the DEM candidate, first timer Barack Obama is making huge gains in the collar counties of Chicago (strong GOP areas) as well as downstate.

5. In SAFE states, it's imperative. Otherwise (tough call), NO.

Commander Bunnypants has and his cronies have virtually ignored Congress's wishes--even the wishes of Republican members.

Kerry can work with even a Republican controlled Congress, and there are so many Congressmen angry at Bush they will welcome him, I think.

We have an uphill battle in Arizona to get Stu Starky elected against McCain. It's sadly unlikely, but I have to concentrate on that Electoral College. We have 10 votes, and with a major GOTV campaign--and we have a BIG one--AZ will turn blue, and I hope Stu will ride the coattails.
