Secret Service backs down in Tulsa at Cheney visit
Protesters in Tulsa were threaten with arrest Friday if they didn't move across the street to the "Free Speech Zone". They didn't move and the police wouldn't arrest the protesters.

1. Yeah,
some good news out of Oklahoma. I might take back my general disgust with my hometown/home state.

3. Oklahoma has some good things going
Bart Cop is from here and there are several good writers who have had leads on the front page of DU. I am seeing a lot of political movement in this state. We might still be outnumbered but we won't be silenced.

5. Wow, I didn't know that
Bartcop is from Oklahoma !?! All is not lost in our fair state. Actually, I agree with you. We've seen much more political activism this election cycle. Did you get to attend the dem primary debate in Stillwater last Spring? It was wonderful.

2. Nice to know...
... that some police agencies (and I say this as a police officer) won't participate in an illegal activity just because the Secret Service says they should.

6. bumper stickers and signs
Even here in Bartlesville, there has been a less than enthusiastic Bush following. My partner and I have noticed there are quite a few Kerry/Edwards signs in front yards and on businesses (a big risk) and a smattering of K/E bumper stickers. However, * stickers are few and far between, which is very unusual for this Repug state. There are thousands of signs in yards for Repug candidates for state office, but few have B/C signs in the yard.

I keep telling my sweetie, wouldn't it be funny if Bush lost Oklahoma? If it weren't for that "no fags marrying" law being passed, I doubt many of these people would even bother to go vote.

Only time will tell!

Brightest Blessings!

10. The Price Tower
It is a few blocks from my house. You can almost see it from my front yard. It is an odd looking building.

12. That's it! I couldn't think of the name.
If it's like the other FLLW buildings I've visited, I'm sure it's a real spiritual experience to be in it.

13. Great news
And more power to them. They were not breaking the law and stood their ground.

You have the power to take your country back!

Way to go Tulsa protesters.
