...perpetuate the lies by Bush to the American people.

5. But the general in charge just contradicted Bush.
He refused to say that Kerry was aiding the enemy by speaking out against the war. That stunned me. Meantime Graham was on CBS saying how bad it was to do so.

8. Gen. Abizaid, US Army, said that (free speech) is what we are fighting for
That is an inexact paraphrasing of his comments. He did throw out a lot of garbage lines like "the resistance has never won one engagement".

22. Free Speech?
Excuse me. The speech that he read (poorly I might add) for every question on MTP this morning cost the taxpayers plenty. Excuse the pun. It was absolutely pathetic how he was reading his answers, word for word, that just happen to coincide with what the Bush people say. Hmmm. Why is being lied to acceptable in this country?

25. I didn't think he was reading from a script.
I think he was trying to do his job. He is not in control of political decisions, he has to lead the military mission the best he can and part of that is maintaining his troops morale.

21. Speaking out against the War.
"He refused to say that Kerry was aiding the enemy by speaking out against the war." Like the repugs did during Kosovo!

20. That was good, but I worry about Kerry himself
contradicting the General in command, regarding the situation on the ground. I would advise that Kerry backs off on that now and let people see for themselves that the situation is worsening. Abazaid is not a retired General making political comment, he has a job to do and he needs his officers to believe in the mission. And he deserves our support too.

That doesn't mean Kerry shouldn't hammer on Bush's decisions regarding Iraq, but Kerry needs to show that he is 100% behind the General and the troops.

Edited on Sun Sep-26-04 09:56 AM by kerryin2004
and I had to turn it off.. I wish that old man would just find him a retirement community.. He sounds delusional when he speaks, and I can't be mad at what probably is a man in the first stages of Alzheimer's..

Jon Stewart annointed him as douchebag. I missed the beginning of Meet the Press (well, I wouldn't exactly call it "missing").

I watch those old fools and each sounds nuts, lost in the head.

28. Josh Marshall's TalkingPoints Blog has a thread about MTP
I guess this morning 'roundtable' is as fair and balanced as Meat, the press, is going to get, a FuxNewsChannel fair and balanced way. I was mulling over what can be done about this, when I read Josh's blog. Hopefully, some idiot at NBC will read it too, and being embarrased will even attempt some corrective action.
........
Shirley, I jest.

12. Oh lucky me.
All I get is hurricane news, except for espn. Damn, I hope the power don't go out before the race since I am going to miss all the games.

The gutters just left the other side of my condo. I think Jeanne is getting serious. Fortunately I am on the side away from the wind direction. Long As it don't get the roof, but they just fixed that after Frances.

OH well, the power is still on. Life is good so far.

so we can make room for these folks. This is despicable. I'm serious. These people need to be prosecuted right along with the Bush junta for consipracy to overthrow the Constitutional government.

18. Why not just go to a Bush /Cheney rally?
I have yet to turn on the idiot box today. I am taking my time. I am noticing how happy I am not listening to the must twisted name in news or the fairly unbalanced etc. The bias is so blatent and obvious now that anyone with a sixth grade education ought to be able to see right through it. So I figure, why bother? Why not just go to a Bush /Cheney rally if I want to hear this incongruent WWF misrepresentation of reality. I am staying here at DU where world has not been pulled over our eyes.

29. You gotta hand it to 'em, these wingnuts are obsessed with power..
control, controlling the message, power over people, and keeping a hold of power at all costs.

Maybe we need more decent, moral people in the democratic party to have that kind of rabid zeal...looks like you need it, to counter this evil force sweeping over the nation.
