In how many states is Nader on the ballot?
And in which states do we wish he WASN'T, besides Florida? I haven't kept track in a while and I thought it was 11 states total, but someone told me they thought it was 29 now.

Is he done? Are there anymore he can be put on or are all the deadlines in the past?

I'm not really worried about the Nader factor this time around, just thinking about it and wishing for the gazillionth time that he hadn't run again.

1. Nader is giving the disaffected Republicans some place to go.
They hate the irresponsibility and reckless of the Idiot Bush and the Rabid Radical Right Wing nuts, and do not want to go Kerry. Let them go to Nader. That is another one Bush lost. One by one we take back our government.

2. Moonbeam,

Don't sweat it. I heard Ralph on the way home from a late night gig last night on Coast to Coast radio. He said he would be on the ballot in only 35 states. I think it was live but can't be sure. Don't panic though. Nobody who was going to vote for Kerry is going to switch to Nadar.

I'm in a deeply blue state and I gave my aging dad Kevin Phillip's book. He's voted both parties over the years but has pretty much voted Repug. He says he's voting Nadar. That really doesn't amount to much but is symbolic of how it'll be mostly disgruntled Repugs and folks that wouldn't have voted anyway who 'll go for Nadar.

I'm far more concerned about the voting machines than I'm of Nadar.

6. In Oregon Nader was thrown off the ballot, but is appealing to USSC
after losing in Oregon supreme court.

5. I thought Tim Fox threw him off the ballot last week.
This story is changing almost every day. It's hard to keep up.

Was that Arkansas where the supreme court ordered ballot printing to be halted? Or was it some other state?

9. I'm not sure
I won't buy the Democrat-Gazette, which is a right wing rag. But I scan the headlines when I do the banking for my company (they keep the day's paper out for folks to look at), and I saw that they were still arguing over this on yesterday's front page. Don't know about ballot printing.

7. Does anyone know if he's on the ballot in TX?
I'm assuming we DON'T want him on the ballot in swing states or blue states but we don't care if he's on the ballot in red states, right?

I do know some Texans who can't bring themselves to vote bush again who are thinking Nader or Badnarick. But I'm not sure if he's on the ballot here or not. Last I heard he had quite a struggle here.

11. Thank you! Great site!
Just as I thought he is NOT on the ballot in TX. Most disgruntled reps I know here are voting Libertarian or not voting or voting Kerry anyway.

10. Unfortunately
he's on most of the important swing state ballots. He's on where there is some potential for him to cause trouble - FL, WI, MN, IA (all three very close Gore states). He's also on here in MI, but he did quite poorly here last time, and while he might do well among some Arabs, many of them might be disgruntled Bush voters.

I'm not sure about PA and NH.

Either way, he hasn't had more than 1% impact in many polls, even in states where he did relatively well like MN. Democrats should verify that the signatures are legit, but he's not worth worrying about too much at this point.

Those that are still going to vote for Nader, wouldn't vote for Kerry anyway. As long as Kerry makes his differences on Iraq clear in the debates and really goes after him on Iraq, the war on terror, the economy, and healthcare, he'll appeal to a wide enough base. It's more important now to get that final push to get people registered - and then finally in the last month, make absolutely sure they'll vote.
