Why we need to contribute to Kerry's GELAC fund....Important
We have all given until it hurts, but there is one more Major donation we should consider. Kerry's GELAC fund will be used for legal expenses to either defend or contest voter results. And, depending on a pending FEC ruling, the fund could be used for recount expenses. If this race is as tight as we think it is, this fund will be supremely important. bu$h's fund far exceeds Kerry's. Need I say more? If the 50,000 DU members each donated $100, that would total $5,000,000....awesome. Please contribute at

How tight might this election be, resulting in a tremendous need for the $$ in the GELAC fund? Read:

Democracy Corps Poll: Toward a 50-50 Race
It's tighter than tight.

9.24.04

After all the sound and fury of the campaign, in some ways we are back where we started: with an essentially even contest. As Democracy Corps' Stanley Greenberg and James Carville point out, averaging the major national polls gives Bush a 1.5% lead over Kerry, nearly identical to the 2-point margin in the Democracy Corps poll.

One bright spot for Kerry is that undecided voters are more likely to be Democratic than Republican by two to one. Chances are that most of these voters will "come home" to the Democratic candidate by the time they reach the voting booth.
