Just got back from 'Silver City': TOTAL RIP ON BUSH LIKE POLITICS
In John Sayles latest movie, Chris Cooper plays Dickie Pilager, a Senator who is running to be Governor of Colorado. Pilager's father was a Senator for the state for the longest time himself. Pilager Jr. took up the family business but isn't nearly as articulate as papa. Pilager is easily manipulated by a CEO buddy of his father's and his ultra dirty campaign manager played by Richard Dreyfus. The movie becomes a dectective thriller, but I won't tell you how. The main character is clearly a rip on Bush though and it shows how corporations can easily persuade politics. Ebert & Ropert give it two thumbs up and I've seen many critics give it 4 stars. I highly recommend seeing it with friends who are moderate/undecided. Check out more info at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0376890/ It's released in Chicago and a few other cities right now and it will have a wider distribution soon. Enjoy!

1. I Enjoyed It Immensely - The Ending Could Have Been Stronger
Maybe that is a John Sayles trademark.

Chris Cooper played the dumb as rocks politician so well.

One almost thought Dubya was on the screen at times.
