1. Retired General contradicting Bush
Saying 20,000 - 30,000 insurgents is more likely.

2. on now....."Bush playing down size of Iraqi insurgency"
military analysts take issue with the above statement, saying the insurgency is very strong

very lame

they also used Anthony Cordesman, who said that most Iraqi troops WON'T fight!

that was cool

missed whatever brief stuff they must;ve shown first

I missed what they said about Kerry

anybody?

3. Hmmm....

seemed more favorable to Kerry, in that *'s incorrect "facts" were of more importance. The truth hurts.

5. Mostly number issues.
Kerry said it would cost 200 billion, someone else says "only" 120 billion. I can see Mr. Joe Citizen at home going big diff. Kerry said only a few thousand trained troops but an expert said 90,000. Then another expert states that most of those 90,000 are incompetent on the battle field. So Kerry was basically right.

Meanwhile Bush states "just a few" insurgents but a military expert states 20,000 with more pouring into the country.

6. I'd say 20,000 "insurgents" is a VERY conservative estimate...
...from a country with a population that includes nearly 6 million military-age males. I also doubt seriously that the inflow of "insurgents" is as much as some people want us to believe.

7. I've seen the 200 billion number "fact-checked" before.
Kerry is including money that has been appropriated but not spent and estimates of how much will be needed next year.

Saw this last week on "The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer."

8. Kerry said that Rummy said there were 210,000 Iraqi troops...
then changed that number when testifying to Congress last week to 95K then (Letterman clip) Kerry said in reality there are only 5 (holds up 5 fingers) thousand.

ABC factcheck - ~6,317 (about that) police but this is part of a larger force that totals 93,-+- then the experts (Generals and such) said that none of these troops are ready. One even said that there is no proof that they will fight or even stay at the headquarters.

So Kerry had the numbers farely right eh....

Of the $200Billion ONLY $120 has been spent (Norm Ornstein of AEI is there expert to refute Kerry) and some hasn't even been requested, I have no idea how they say that.

10. Yeah, what the hell was that about?
Fact checking by using the most partisan think tank out there? And Brooks Jackson at factcheck.org has some questionable calls as well...
