Sneaky bastards
...but smart ones.

take a look folks at how it's done:

Bush Team Orchestrates Larger Ad Campaign

LIZ SIDOTI

Associated Press

WASHINGTON - President Bush's political team is orchestrating a vastly larger advertising campaign than thought possible under federal law, taking control of millions in Republican Party funds simply by inserting the phrase "our leaders in Congress" in selected commercials.

The GOP strategy had gone unnoticed for weeks by Sen. John Kerry and the Democrats, who now may abandon their own less-cost-efficient approach to advertising.

Ken Mehlman, Bush's campaign manager, said in an interview that federal election law allows the campaign access to party money "provided that your message is broader than the individual candidate and includes a discussion of the overall agenda and the message of the party." The Republican National Committee has $93 million on hand.

This month the Republicans began airing television and radio commercials paid for jointly by the president's re-election campaign and the RNC and including the words "our leaders in Congress."

1. I hope the Kerry camp follows suit. These bastards are sneaky as you say

7. They have been misusing the 527 loopholes for years....
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, an arm of the fundie, neo-con repukes has been spending billions of dollars in their "public interest" campaigns supporting conservative judges and slamming democratic or liberal judges.

They have been circumventing the campaign finance laws for years and the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals has found it to be legal and within protected by the freedom of speech provisions of the constitution/bill of righs.

Dems just started to use the same nasty practices of the repukes and that made the repukes cry "nasty 527s".

He deliberately raided party funds like this in the '96 election.
