Two Democrats Accuse Dean Camp of Dirty Tricks
The campaigns of two Democratic presidential contenders accused front-runner Howard Dean (news - web sites)'s camp of political dirty tricks on Thursday, including plans to have out-of-state supporters pose as Iowans and participate in the Jan. 19 caucuses.

Richard Gephardt's campaign manager, Steve Murphy, said a Dean field organizer told a Gephardt staff member that some of the expected 3,500 out-of-state Dean supporters coming to Iowa to turn out the caucus vote would try to infiltrate the process.

John Kerry (news - web sites)'s Iowa state director, John Norris, also said two out-of-state Dean supporters posing as undecided Iowans had tried to get information about campaign voter calling scripts from a Kerry office in the southeastern town of Creston.

State party officials sent a warning to the campaigns in November after a Dean staff member in Vermont called and asked if a hotel address was sufficient grounds to participate. At the time, Dean officials dismissed the significance of the call and attributed it to a teen-age intern.

1. a pity
the Dean camp didn't make an issue of Kerry workers making nasty calls to Dean supporters, here in NH.

3. Didn't Gephardt advocate
Non-viables supporting him in second round voting to stop Dean--and use cell phones to do it? If thats okay with Gep, why is he bitching about the small possibility ANY campaign will use staffers in an unethical way?

5. Here's the paragraph of concern:
"State party officials sent a warning to the campaigns in November after a Dean staff member in Vermont called and asked if a hotel address was sufficient grounds to participate. At the time, Dean officials dismissed the significance of the call and attributed it to a teen-age intern."

Put that together with Trippi's history and I smell a Dean blow-out in Iowa...just a guess.

8. Net ethics -
Would you please (and I'm talking to all of you who keep doing this shit) stop posting topics that are already on the board? It's nice that so many newbies are taking an interest but really, you're shitting all over the community and I don't appreciate it.
