About Ohio
I keep reading that Ohio is going for bush this election and there is like a 11 point lead for him here.
First of all, bush won the state of Ohio by 3% in 2000, it was very close. There is no doubt that this is a swing state, but I have a feeling the voters are being misled here.
What I have personally seen is support for Kerry at about 4-1 when it comes to signs and bumper stickers. I have heard many people who have told me personally that they voted for bush last time but will NOT be doing it this time.
Other reports here at DU from other parts of Ohio have said that they have seen a growing number of Kerry support in their parts of the State. I don't get it.
The only thing I can say is this: Ohio has been said to be a must need for the candidate. bush's team knows it and I don't put it past them to be using some sort of false information to make it look like a sure win for bush. These people will do anything to get their way again. Something isn't right here, and i think the polls from Ohio are just bullshit at this point.
Sure there are some areas in the state that are repugs, but from personal experience, I don't know where they are. I have even heard that in Cincinnati it has a growing number of Kerry support. What is going on here?

1. clearly the pro bush media bias is spinning the polls ...so keep up the
work...keep out e-voting and get people to vote.

There is no longer truth in media.

2. These proBush polls are put out to help Bush STEAL Ohio thru BBV.
If he squeaks by in Ohio, the press won't raise an eyebrow since they were being told he was so far ahead anyway.

18. Most of Ohio doesn't have BBV.
Diebold tried, but got shut down for "irregularities".

I'm just curious. Cleveland is typically dems, so I can understand it leaning toward Kerry here.

8. The key to Ohio is Cuyahoga County (Cleveland)
Dem wins Cuyahoga County by 200K, Dem wins, period. This ties in with what you're saying about the black communities also.

14. I'm in Stark County
and see a lot more Kerry signs than *,at least in my neck of the woods. Ohio's a frustrating place this election; this county in particular has been hit pretty hard during this admin. but I think the state's going to go Kerry in the end.

For what it's worth it's probably 3 or 4 to 1 of people I know voting Kerry vs *.

16. My brother-in-law is a Bush organizer in Cleveland
The Bush campaign didn't hand out signs until 45 days before the election (the people who had them before that bought them). The Kerry campaign has been passing them out for a while, I believe.

21. Not just Ohio....
Here in Pennsylvania, we hear that Bush is ahead. But as I drive around my area, I see a majority of Kerry signs and bumperstickers.
My sister lives in Minnesota, supposedly now Bush ahead, and she says the same thing: everyone she knows is Pro-Kerry. Who are they polling? Not the folks I know.

22. Said it before...
I'm in Western Licking county, working in the solidly Repub area of Granville (aka Whiteyburg, aka Hoity Toity Land - I drive by a polo field to get lunch, for God's sake). The number of signs is just about evenly split, which I read as a good thing since this is a wealthy white area.

On my drive to work/home, I typically see about the same split in bumper stickers.

Additionally, Columbus has an Air America station now (1230 AM), so that could woo some of the undecided leaners IF they actually find it.

Mostly.
