GOP Candidate Caught Lying about Military Service
http://www.scdp.org/blog.php

The South Carolina Democratic Party recently discovered that Republican State Rep George Bailey had been lying about his Marine Corps Service that he touted in his own legislative biography.

** An official government search turned up no record of George Bailey’s military service.

** After being confronted with these records, Bailey admitted that he never attended boot camp or basic training on Parris Island.

Bailey's response - just keep lying.

Despite exposure of his fabricated service in the U.S. Marines, Bailey continues to deceive the voters about his military record. Bailey’s deceptions include:

** Claiming in his campaign literature that “Beyond his role as a legislator, George proudly served his country in the Marine Reserves.”

** Broadcasting “The Marine Corps Hymn” from his float in the Ridgeville Arts & Crafts Parade.

1. Good! This can be used as an example of what
repukes are still doing to decieve the American People.

Somehow this could easily be worked into bush's deception in the '70's while running for his unsucessful bid for congress.

5. Reminds me of one term R from Oregon Wes Cooley
Questions about his service came up and I think he claimed no records existed because he was doing such top secret sensitive work.

7. I predict we are going to see a lot of this for the next two
months, as a mad rush to scuttle any further military hoaxes takes place. Lots and lots of cheap victories as the current crop of politicians gets outed in more ways than one. Gawd, I've been waiting and hoping for this for years...

He comeback from the Democrat is priceless:

And, like any other reservist, Bailey maintained that if his unit had been called up for duty, he would have gone into service.

"My opponent, did he ever serve in any other unit?" he asked.

"I wonder what unit Mr. (Joe) Erwin served in or Mr. Lachlan McIntosh."

In response, McIntosh said, "The difference between me and him is I didn't serve in the military either, and I never lied about it."

14. I'm surprised that McCain and other real Republicans don't just slap
these posers back into the holes from whence they came. They're taking down the entire Republican Party. Not that I'm shedding any tears.
