LA Times - Clark Push in N.H. Is Gaining Momentum
THE RACE TO THE WHITE HOUSE
Clark Push in N.H. Is Gaining Momentum

By Eric Slater and Mark Z. Barabak, Times Staff Writers

CONCORD, N.H. — The 64-year-old minister walked out of a town meeting held by Democratic presidential hopeful Wesley K. Clark on Thursday and promptly swiped a "Clark for President" sign.

"I'm lifting one," said the Rev. Margaret Seymour as she tugged the stakes out of the frozen ground. "He just sold me."

Seymour's reaction is an increasingly common one in New Hampshire, as the Clark campaign shows signs of growing support less than three weeks before the state's crucial primary on Jan. 27.

Howard Dean still holds a substantial lead, according to recent polls of likely primary voters. But his numbers have dipped and Clark's have improved. Separately, a survey this week showed Clark gaining on Dean nationally — the first significant movement for any candidate, other than the former Vermont governor, in months.

1. according to the ARG tracking polls
most of Clark's gains have come at Kerry's expense. Dean for many days was at 37% then he peaked for one day at 39% while Kerry has had a steady loss of support from 19% when the tracking poll began to 12% now. Clark over this time went from 12% to 18%.

But the corporate media wants to build Clark up as the alternative to Dean so they will spin it the way they want.

2. Well certainly Dean, has added to his own problems.....
as far as corporate media goes, they have some 90 video tapes where Dean himself was the willing actor.

It's going to get worse...before it gets better.

3. 90 videos of a local PBS talk show where Dean looks honest and smart
even the caucus comment was just truth telling.

11. In Florida: everytime we go somewhere - we run out of EVERYTHING
We're somewhat on a budget in Florida (being a March 3 primary state) and we get "wiped" out of everything every time we go somewhere. Thank God, they've started to give us more materials.

At the Florida Dem convention people were also "stealing" signs. They were taking signs from the walls, and asking for the signs hanging on the table, etc.

10. if the media says it
it must be true.

Doesn't seem to be real in my part of NH - but then, Clark didn't bother to go north of Concord until a couple of weeks ago.
