My sign got torn up too
and I didn't cry. I just got two more. Turns out the Bushies aren't even good at destroying personal property, though. The original yard sign was repaired with a bit of tape. So now I have three Kerry signs in my yard.

BTW... whoever tore up the little girl's sign in the other thread is a dweeb.

2. Rethugs are hiding behind women and kids. Laura defends Chimpy's guard
service and this guy lets his kid hold the Bush sign.

3. True on both counts

But that still doesn't give anyone the right to destroy someone else's personal property.

Aren't we frustrated in the way Bush is skirting and has skirted the law? If we start the same kind of thing, we're no better than the freepers.

6. Most uncool what some Bush people have been doing
But I agree. Our side contains the occasional shmuck as well. We are not immune.

8. The plan in Milwaukee
Is to use our limited number of signs for the greatest impact.

A bunch of people are signed up for signs. All at once they will be handed out so that they all appear at once. Aparently the powers that be think that people have stopped noticing the Bush signs. They're part of the landscape. When a whole bunck of Kerry signs show up en mass, it will hopefully be alittle unnerving for Bush folk who though they had the area sewn up.

9. That's great!
I've been registering voters the past few weekends and people have been asking for signs. Also we always run out of bumper stickers and buttons because so many people want them (yay!:bounce: ) Last Saturday a guy came up to us and said he couldn't vote because he wasn't a citizen but asked for a bumper sticker. I gave him our last one and he put it on his car right there! And this is in supposedly conservative AZ.

11. Actually, my plan is to add a sign under the campaign sign
Edited on Thu Sep-16-04 09:22 PM by Paul_H
To the effect of "Bush supporters who tear down signs do not believe in free speech!" if it gets torn down again.

12. It's worse when the community you live in does it.
I live in a small city in Northeast Ohio that has a sign ordinance that forbids setting out yard signs more than 30 days in advance of an election.

I put a Kerry sign out on my lawn two weeks ago only to find it deposited on my front porch a few days later along with a highlighted copy of the city's sign ordinance deposited inside my screen door. My kids tell me that a city worker came around and removed my sign without warning.

I have decided to engage in a little civil disobedience and have put my sign back out in my lawn, as well as stapling two more onto the oak tree in my front yard and four more onto the shed in my back yard. I figure what the hell, if they're going to go after me I might as well go out in style.

Well, so far, the city hasn't been back, but two neighbors have signs up and the ACLU has asked me whether I would be willing to serve as a plaintiff in a case against the city should they decide to fine me.

I think all it will take for us to defeat Bush is for every one of us to display a little courage and tell the bastards to get lost when they try to violate our rights. I have a lot more signs where these came from and if they want to tear them down, I'll just keep putting them back up again.

I hope this post isn't too long from a newbie but I thought you all might be interested.

14. Arrrr! Matey!!!! Nothin' like a duct-taped campaign yard sign!
Add Prussian Blue to the back of the sign. Get it at a motorhead store.

THe Freepers can't get the shit off theit claws.

Uncle Zulch sez "try it".
