Repuke scumbag father deliberately endangered little girl
What kind of Repuke would put his kid up to carrying a political sign into the middle of a rally for the other side?

1. They'd arrest the kid if she did the same
at a Repuke rally.

10. Yes but if we sink to their level we are no better than they are
This is the lesson of the day.

11. They were NOT arrested. This also may be a setup by Karl Rove.

14. SO? Again you are justifying getting to the same low
level as the other side.

If you do that, then they are justified fully, at least in their mind

Look at the reaction from Thereza Heinz when tehy screamed four more years, "they want four more years of hell!"

Kerry himself, I see they sent their brown shirts today

The freedom of speech rights of those people were NOT violated, they were highly embarrased but they were not violated in any way, nor offered a good photo op for the other side.

If you see another kid carrying a bush chenney sign at a Kerry rally, engage them civily, or just ignore them... but do not make a child cry... it looks bad.

Oh and if this was a Rove plant, whoever did that to the kid, took the bait, the hook, the sinker, the pole and the arm all the wsy to the shoulder...

Yes you need to think STRATEGICALLY.... this makes us look bad, just as those idiots wearing purple heart band aids at the convention... it is infantile but so easily exploitable.

16. After a picture like this comes to light, bogus or no
I'd rather not have "company" seeing various members gloat over it. It just feeds into what Rove would want. As if we'd have done the same to a "Repub puke."

Double plus ungood, people.

7. Propping your kid in an intensely political crowd with the opponent's sign
is abusive. Someone should call child protective services

20. No, it was more like a Nazi rally
Edited on Fri Sep-17-04 12:29 AM by IndianaGreen
where a bunch of goons assault little girls for carrying a sign they disagree with!

I will never agree with those that think it is okay to assault a 3-year old girl. In Indiana it would have been assault because the culprit touched the girl in taking her sign and ripping it.

21. I'm just saying that
a peace rally with moms is different from a political rally where you may/may not be planning to start some shit.

That said, no, neither will I condone messing with a little kid. I refuse to accept that Bush's ugliness condones any amount of ugliness from us.

And I have a low post count, something that apparently makes me suspect. So for my part in the "tolerance" threads, I may or may not still be here in the morning. Bye y'all if I'm not. It will have been fun while it lasted.

23. We didn't win any votes tonight with that picture posted by the AP
and I would like to know the name of man that tore the sign. He needs a good talking to because he embarrased his Union, his Union Local as well as the campaign.

6. I agree...turning a 3-year-old into a political pawn
is reprehensible.

Maybe he thought nothing would happen to the sign in the hands of his daughter.

That would be fucking stupid of him, but it beats out the other possibility: that he hoped something would happen to the sign, and deliberately endangered his child for the photo op. If that's what he was thinking, he's more than stupid, he's evil.

Whatever his reasoning, though, it does not excuse the actions of the person(s) who ripped up the sign. Petty, juvenile, short-sighted, and just as stupid as the dad.

12. Has Daddy Been ID's Yet?
I'm withholding any judgement til I know who dad is and why dad was there. If dad was some lost freeptoid sheeple...and there are some real people who aren't paid and support this regime...and he and his daughter were singled out and abused, that is wrong.

However, if he was there with a convenient photog and making sure he'd get attention from the crowd that could lead to a "kodak moment"...I'd sure like to know about that.

Gotta love every Bunnypants/Crashcart supporter wears a shirt & tie...even when out with their kids. And I noticed a young boy also in the picture...didn't look like he was too upset the sign got "downsized"...LOL

19. Not only that
We need an id on the kid standing there grinning, with the Union shirt on. Does he indeed belong to a union? Or if we showed his face to the Young Republicans, would they say "I know that guy."

26. It is their MO
I think we can all agree that IF someone tore the little girls sign he/she was an asshole. On the other hand it is their MO to indoctrinate their children starting at a young age. Anyone remember the summer sieges at the womens clinics in the mid to late 90's. They would all bring their children and make them hold signs with awful pictures on them and yell awful things while they baked in the hot summer sun all day.
