This is their latest talking point. I guess this means people like General Shinsheki, who said we couldn't secure the peace with so few troops. Or the many people who thought it was a little bit too optimistic to expect Iraqi citizens to be flooding our tanks with flowers and freshly baked pies. Or the many people who thought that the claim that Iraq could fund its own reconstruction with oil revenues. Or those who question the clip that Al Franken played today from Richard Perle a year ago, saying he would be very surprised if one year from now (meaning today) there isn't a square in Baghdad named in honor of George Bush.
Now that the situation in Iraq is getting worse and worse, the people who suggest we need to do something about it are being branded pessimists and gloom-and-doomers. I suppose we should just optimistically hope that Iraqis are just blowing off steam for a little while and that one of these days, they'll get around to bringing us those flowers.
