Some duers accuse Kucinich of being a fraud, because he use to be
pro-life. Well guess what I've changed I use to be LGBT, because that was what I was taught growing attending church. I played sports and the anti-gay crowd was loud. I hated them, because I didn't understand how anyone could be like that, but I changed, because I was educated. People grow over time. People can get more progressive or regressive over time. As have gotten older I have gotten more progressive.

1. Kucinich's change to pro-choice was very convenient
In 2003, just as he is setting up to run for president in the Democratic primaries, he switches positions.

Iowa and New Hampshire Democrats would never nominate an anti-abortion candidate for president.

Very convenient indeed.

2. Dennis was 56 when he changed his mind...
And he changed it right before he decided to run for President. Not saying that we should rule out that he just became more enlightened. But Occam's razor would suggest that he changed his position for political expediency.

4. You misread everything.
Dennis Kucinich is being called a fraud because he changed, that's admirable. He's being called out for voting against a bill that represents progress. Fighting for change means nothing if one votes against change simply because it doesn't go far enough.

5. The HCR bill has an additional abortion restriction.
If someone uses supplemented insurance, they are not allowed to buy additional insurance for abortion coverage. This is a new restriction from the Hyde rule.

Some people are used to the idea of being forced to buy a product or service from a private company. Some people say they are forced to buy car insurance in their state, but not all states have this rule. My state does not have this rule.

7. you need to read the amendment,
it has 2 sections referring directly to buying supplemental abortion coverage.
they make clear that buying a supplemental plan is allowed.

8. That has nothing to do with the point
An amendment can be stripped. No doubt all the progressives who voted for the bill realized this.

Again, voting against progress isn't progressive.

15. I get the feeling some of his detractors would rather he was still pro-life.
They bash him for changing for the right thing, so one has to wonder if they'd be happier if he was still pro-life. They claim to stick up for women's issues but trash someone for becoming one of the stronger pro-choice voices out there. And the charge of flip flops sounds exactly like the attacks on Kerry in 2004.

Personally, I don't care if his change was personal, political or both. Flips flops are fine with me when the flops comes down on the side of what's right.

16. Flip-flopping makes it look like a politician doesn't stand for anything
I want politicians who stand for something, even if it's not what I believe in.

17. That's insane.
You'd be happier if someone who stands for something bad stays that way instead of changing to the right side of the issue? Really?

19. I'd rather have someone openly oppose abortion
than pretend to support choice while really working to weaken women's rights, yes.

At least in the former case you know what you're getting.

Despite a 100% rating from NARAL and Planned Parenthood?

Alrighty then. Thanks for proving my initial point.

Would you rather he was still pro-life? Isn't going from the wrong position to the right one something we should be happy about?

Since whatever inspired his conversion, be it personal or political, he's gotten a 100% rating from NARAL and Planned Parenthood. How is that a bad thing? You care about women, I've no doubt, so can you please explain how his stance now is bad?

And why is ok to accept Spector into the party when he's clearly done far more negative than good, most of it against Democrats, but DK is asshat for changing his views to the right thing?

The charges of flip flops are exactly what the Right did to Kerry in 2004. It's just sad.
