2. Obviously not.

:eyes: It IS possible to be happy a health care reform bill passed AND be devastated that the Stupak Amendment passed as well. As I posted earlier, I was happy because there was some movement on this after 40 tears. Granted, it was like being constipated for 40 years and passing a giant, painful turd, but it passed. I have no doubt the fuckery that is the Stupak Amendment will be removed if we continue to give our reps hell.

3. Not everything that everyone would want to be covered
under the first version of a national healthcare bill, will be covered.

At some point, we all have to understand that. Maybe some of you don't live in a part of the country where abortion is not 100% acceptable, but many of us do.

4. Its called cost-control.
It will eliminate the short term costs of abortions in exchange plans, by shifting the spending out of pocket. As long as this is cheaper than covering families with an average size of 13.7 children, its a win!

Aside from that, there is no other cost-control to speak of

6. Yawn.
Pointless rhetorical questions are boring. Think a little before posting your next outrage thread.

7. U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette said it best
Edited on Tue Nov-10-09 05:19 AM by POAS
I totally agree with this statement by her:

Failure to reform our health care system would be catastrophic. This bill will provide 95 percent of Americans with access to health care, ensuring their ability to get care. It will provide Americans with the liberty to choose their own best recourse for treatment without a bureaucrat or an insurance agent standing in the way. It will keep us all from having to choose between medicine for a sick child and groceries for our families.

8. It's further incremental change to abortion rights.
Conservatives in both parties are "improving" roe v wade/privacy rights.
