17 Blue Dogs and Dems in McCain districts who just voted YES:
Edited on Sun Nov-08-09 12:48 AM by CreekDog
17 of them. :hi: (percentage vote for Obama in their district in parenthesis)

AR-02: Vic Snyder (44)

AZ-01: Ann Kirkpatrick (44)
AZ-05: Harry Mitchell (47)
AZ-08: Gabby Giffords (46)

CO-03: John Salazar (47)

IN-08: Brad Ellsworth (47)
IN-09: Baron Hill (49)

ND-AL: Earl Pomeroy (45)

OH-06: Charlie Wilson (48)
OH-18: Zack Space (45)

PA-03: Kathy Dahlkemper (49)
PA-10: Chris Carney (45)
PA-12: John Murtha (49)

SC-05: John Spratt (46)

VA-05: Tom Perriello (48)

WV-01: Alan Mollohan (42)
WV-03: Nick Rahall (42)

(I guess Pelosi was figuring out how to get these folks on board because we could only spare one of them)

(note some Dems, like Stupak voted "yes" but are not shown because either they aren't blue dogs or aren't in a McCain-voting district)

I mistakenly showed Boccieri, Massa, McMahon and Teague voting "yes" when they actually voted "no". Sorry!

7. Baron Hill runs in a tough district in Indiana.
Usually titled the "Bloody Eighth" because elections are so close. The previous Republican rep was J. Hostettler, a gun-crazed fanatic who tried to smuggle a handgun onto an airplane, and thought citizens should be entitled to own nuclear bombs. Baron Hill is a Blue Dog, but he's a damned sight better than any republican who would have been in the district.

15. true about Baron Hill, and he's lost his seat and won it back
so this vote is pretty admirable in my view.

9. He is truly disgusting. I want to find a full list of the jerks that voted yes on that amendment
and then turned around and voted no for the final bill.

it's not the list of all Dems of course.

i don't even know if Stupak's district (UP Michigan) is liberal or conservative.

23. To be clear, Massa voted no because he thought it wasn't strong enough.
He insisted on Medicare rates for the public option, and also opposed individual mandates.
