Does Gephardt really not have a office on the West Coast?

I just went to an informational meeting hosted by Washington State Legislative District #1's democrats. The Hon. Adam Smith (US Rep, Dem WA, not the dead economist :) ) represented John Kerry, Dr. Ashby represented Howard Dean, and so on.

The moderator said that he tried to find a person to represent Dick Gephardt, but found that Gephardt had no West Coast office. Holy Cow! The moderator also signed up for a Gephardt meetup, but was informed that since only 5 people signed up for it, it would not be held!

Is Gephardt running a national campaign, or is he just running in Missouri and a few midwest states like Iowa? I was shocked, I thought Gephardt had more of an organization that I heard about tonight.

1. Gep doesn't have the organization
He is playing it Old Skool hoping that as he wins, more money will come to him allowing him to campaign in other states.

He doesn't realize that the money is already declared for Kerry, Dean, and Clark. He is clueless.

2. Gep is almost bankrupt, I think
Only 2.5 million for the quarter (if I recollect right) and like 3 million in matching funds I would assume. I saw a story a while back saying that the campaign would be out of money by the middle of Feb.

4. Gep won't make it to the West Coast
So why waste the resources where they aren't needed?
