3. does it matter at this point?
anyone who would still vote for nader after the last four years is beyond reaching. They would probably just stay home if nader's not on the ballot.

14. Too bad.
I was listening to AAR this morning and one of the callers was concerned that they will try to move some of the electronic votes to Nader to offset Kerry votes.

chief justice! Not only that, they wimped out and would not reveal who wrote the 6-1 opinion--this is what per curiam means.

They copped out and deferred to the Florida legislature and bending over to ensuring ballot access.

25. From Miami Herald
Six of the seven justices agreed to the unsigned opinion, but Justice Harry Lee Anstead disagreed, writing that no matter how the law was to be interpreted, the Reform Party wouldn't make the cut.

22. Not to Worry - Kerry will win Florida this time!
I have been wondering for four years now if my punch-card vote for Gore in 2000 was counted or not. All Floridians who voted for Gore, or who intended to but were prevented from voting, or were misled by a goofy butterfly ballot in Palm Beach County, are going to be out in force to vote in November!

Kerry is going to have a lot of people monitoring the election, and we are going to have international monitors too. Jeb Bush is not going to have an easy time stealing the election for his brother this time. His new election's boss, Hill, tried to purge a lot of black voters like Harris had done, but she was forced to give it up.

I know that some polls show Bush leading in Florida, but many of us are up north during the summer hurricane season, and so we are not being included in the polling. Nader or not, Kerry will win!

33. It really doesn't matter
Even if he didn't make the ballot, his supporters could always write him in.
So, why worry about something that in the end is not going to change anything?

Awww... but in the era of black box voting, it may well make a huge
difference. All the Florida elections officals need to do is move some of the votes from the Kerry side to the Nader side. No one needs to know.

Edited on Fri Sep-17-04 07:05 PM by lizzy
they might as well move it from Kerry's side to Bush's side, they don't really need Nader for this.

34. Democratic judges have principles. Unlike the U.S.SCT
These judges are mostly democratic appointees. Unlike the USSC, which proved it is governed by partisanship, they have principles and rule according to what they believe the law requires.

37. Jeb?
From St Petersburg Times Online in 2002:

Five of the seven justices now sitting on the state Supreme Court were appointed by the late Gov. Lawton Chiles, and a sixth was appointed by fellow Democrat Bob Graham. The seventh -- Peggy Quince -- was appointed jointly by Bush and Chiles.

So it looks like Jeb has appointed only one solely by himself, the replacement for Harding in 2002. One he shared with Chiles, the rest were Dem appointees. No matter how you slice it, at least five of those who issued this decision were Democrat-appointed.
