Great news and hopefully some good will come out of this for the American Indian population.

(because I dont want to steal too much of Jackeens' thunder)

And an anecdote...

Meeting with leaders from American Indian tribes Thursday morning, President Obama inadvertently dropped a prediction for the 2012 presidential campaign.

In a question-and-answer session with the president, the head of the Navaho Nation asked how Obama could ensure his policies toward Indians would continue beyond the end of his term, adding: "I know you're going to win your reelection."

"Obviously the executive branch’s job is to implement law," Obama started to explain.

"So for the next eight years," he continued, drawing some cheers before correcting himself: "The next four years at least. Let me not jump the gun. For the next three years and one month that I'm assured this current position we're going to make sure we put the infrastructure and the framework in place so that a new dynamic, a new set of relationships is in place."

4. Another anecdote - that head dress was a gift for the
President. When the gentleman stood up to speak, he explained that it was gift for the Commander in Chief and said he would turn it over to the Secret Service before they left the room.

ABC News' Sunlen Miller Reports: Traveling though Montana on Monday, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., made his first stop as a presidential candidate to an Indian reservation - and got a little more than expected.

Obama was adopted as an honorary member into the family within the Crow tribe that inhabited the reservation - who gave the presidential candidate a new name and new parents.

"Awe Kooda bilaxpak Kuuxshish" was the honorary name given to Obama meaning, "one who helps people throughout the land."

Obama was escorted out to the stage in Crow Agency, Montana arm-in-arm between his adopted parents: Sunny and Mary Black Eagle.

Obama thanked his honorary new parents – for giving him another name to tack on to the list, "I like my new name Barack Black Eagle. I mean that's a good name."

Newly named President Barack Obama shared a moment with his adoptive Crow parents, Mary and Hartford Black Eagle. The Black Eagles are proud of their adoptive son and his run to become the 44th President of the United States.

And who forget earlier this year....
