When Obama salutes the military, goes to church or hands out candy, he makes me mad
I am a die hard conservative who is absolutely positive Barack Hussein Obama is a Manchurian Candidate Muslim terrorist Marxist Communist Fascist dictator. Also, he wasn't born in the United States. And his dad was a black panther or something. The point is, I really really really cannot process facts and information such as when he engages in all American activities.

Don't people know it's all an act? He is just hyperventilating at the chance to rob all of us Americans of our hard earned dollars so we can get "affordable" health care. Can you imagine the waits for procedures? I recently had to wait over 3 hours in an emergency room to have a doctor look at a noncritical issue I was having. Can you imagine how long I'll have to wait when the public option is here? Maybe 4 hours.

Barack Obama is proving he is simultaneously a warmonger (sending more troops to Afghanistan) and a flakey peacnik (continuing drawdown of US troops in Iraq).

Barack Obama is showing he is simultaneously a socialist control freak (trying to do more to regulate financial industry) and a willing pawn of the financial industry (continuing with bailouts of the banks started by Henry Paulson and Ben Bernanke).

So, memo to Barack Obama: Stop saluting the flag, hugging your daughters, smiling and laughing with White House visitors, and for the love of God stop quoting the Bible. You're giving me a headache.

I have wondered how many heads are exploding as they hold so many contradictory ideas in their little brains.

They love GWB--the president who never saluted in front of a coffin, never went to church, and went to bed before the trick or treaters arrived.

4. Now, to be fair, George did go to church. I don't know how often, but he did go.
It just didn't seem to help him any. So, like, why bother?

on Sundays and only attended when he had to be there for an event.

17. I don't even need a clock or a calendar to know when it's the weekend!
I can always tell when it's the weekend by just reading some of the post here on DU!

I guess it's true what they say about weekends (weekends are made for Michelob), because they sure have the courage to make absolutely no sense at all.

Some of the post I'm reading... If I didn't know the effects of alcohol on people I'd wonder what was wrong with people, and wouldn't realize they are all just drunk.

Good post.

26. well, you've got a point on that one. however....
I think what the poster meant is there are a lot of people at DU running around bad mouthing every new development under Obama's administration.

It is a weird cultlike fascination with only THEIR way. If Obama doesn't match up to their ideal of a progressive president, then he is an evil corporatist in their twisted little worldview.

42. He PROMISED to end the plight of Native Americans today.

He Da Man!

My people have waited for this moment for almost 500 years. Oh wait... They've HEARD this for almost 500 years.

"Few US groups "have been more marginalized and ignored by Washington for as long as native Americans," Obama told the leaders of 564 tribes that the federal government recognizes and who were invited to Washington for the event."

Which US groups are identified as "The Few" in Barack Obama's opinion?

Dispute this if you will: While, during the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries, African-American slaves were housed and fed (albeit under circumstances that NO HUMAN BEING SHOULD EVER HAVE TO ENDURE), American Indians were HUNTED for sport, and for the purpose of opening lands to the west of the Colonies.

GObama!

43. Your post sounds almost like you are comparing the plight of Native Americans
Edited on Fri Nov-06-09 04:06 AM by FrenchieCat
with those of African Americans...and I don't think there is a competition going on (and Black men were hunted as sports, and the women raped; so they were not just clothed and fed).

Point is that you are doing what you always do; being cynical of Barack Obama's sincerity, and
that's sad.

But the beauty of your misguided disrespect just cause you can,
is that time will tell the story, and it is my belief that your skepticism will be proven
wrong in your judgment of Barack Obama's intent. He will do exactly has he says.

June 15, 2009

"That is why I am committed to strengthening and building on the Nation-to-Nation relationship between the United States and tribal nations. That commitment started with the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, which provides over $3 billion in funding for Indian Country. And it extends to our work to empower Native communities to address their pressing local priorities, starting with significant increases in the 2010 proposed budget for health care, law enforcement and education. I recognize that this budget proposal does not make up for past deficiencies, but it does reflect my determination to work with you to reevaluate our spending priorities and include Native Americans in the national policy debate.

These efforts will not be easy. At times the pace of progress will be frustrating. But I am confident that we can bring the change we need, particularly given the outstanding team of leaders and experts whom I’ve chosen to join my Administration. Individuals like Larry Echo Hawk as Assistant Secretary of the Interior for Indian Affairs; Yvette Roubideaux as Director of the Indian Health Service; Mary Smith as Assistant Attorney General for the Department of Justice; and Hilary Tomkins as Solicitor of the Department of Interior.

I am also pleased to point out that Jodi Gillette of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, who is a member of my White House Intergovernmental Affairs staff, is with you today. And I am delighted to announce that someone many of you know -- Kim Teehee -- will soon be joining the White House Domestic Policy Council.

As we move forward, I want you to know that my staff and I are eager to engage with Indian Country on your priorities – to listen to you and learn from you. I am particularly looking forward to meeting with many of you at the Tribal Nations Conference we will hold at the White House later this fall." - Barack Obama
