81 times!!
I'm sure some have received this email from Senator Stabenow but what she says is the truth.

Dear ,

Eighty-one times.

So far this year, Republicans have stalled Senate action 81 times. Each time,
critical legislation that should have taken two hours has instead taken weeks.

Republicans are not a party of ideas. They're purely a party of obstinacy. They're
slow-walking and road-blocking for one reason only: to see Democrats fail.

It could work.

If their obstruction wins, we lose. And if we lose our majority, our progressive
platform won't see the light of day. President Obama's agenda for change would be
dead. Those are the stakes.

That's why you and every other dedicated Democrat need to support the Democratic
Senatorial Campaign Committee. We're a year from the 2010 elections, and GOP attacks
are growing fiercer by the day. The DSCC must raise $879,342 by Nov. 2 to defend our
majority, target vulnerable Republicans and help President Obama make the lasting
changes he was elected to accomplish. If you give $5 or more today, you will receive
a free "If 'No' Wins, America Loses" car magnet.

Republicans are already planning their victory party. Their hopes are bolstered by
history - the party holding the White House has lost seats in all but three midterm
elections since the Civil War - and hard cash. They have millions of dollars on hand
to damage us, regain power, and turn the clock back on progress.

If the Republicans regain the Senate, we'd see change all right - reducing health
coverage for children. Cutting investments in clean energy. Removing constraints on
Wall Street. And repealing hate crimes legislation. All of the progress we've made
would be gone. We can't let that happen.

We need your help to keep it from happening. The Republican fundraising machine is
running at full speed toward the 2010 elections. The Democratic Senatorial Campaign
Committee needs the help of each of its grassroots supporters to raise $879,342 by
Nov. 2 and keep pace with them. If you give $5 or more today, you will receive a
free "If 'No' Wins, America Loses" car magnet.

It's true: If their obstruction wins, we could lose our majority. If we lose our
majority, it's game over for President Obama's bold vision and everything we've been
working so hard to accomplish. Don't let that historic night in 2008 be for naught.

Sincerely,

Sen. Debbie Stabenow

9. She's already elected or am I missing something? She needs to be vocal about issues w/out
asking for money to be re-elected. Do it first, then the money will come, see Alan Grayson. He put his POV out there loud and clear, he didn't say, I have something of note to say, and if you'll contribute, I'll open my mouth.

for the reelection and election of more democratic party members to the House and Senate. The trend has been for the party in the White House to lose out in the off year election. If you think it is bad now just wait until 2011 when we have fewer in both houses or worse lose enough seats to give the Pukes control.
